Yes, let the plant recover before you re-water. They will let you know when they want water =)

Are you checking the runoff PH? Nutes will push it down a lot. If your runoff PH is low, I know of two solutions:

1 - Flush the soil with 3x the amount it takes to run out the bottom of your pots with properly PH'd water.

2 - Add 2 tablespoons powdered dolomite lime per gallon of soil and re-pot. This will buffer the PH into the proper range.

if your wanting to check the ro then just water with ph'ed water like you would normaly do and check it. you want it 6.0 - 6.5

i havn't checked the rp. wouldn't i need something else to test the ph off the ro? or would the soil testing solution stuff work??

I use my test kit. It isn't perfect, but you can see if you're way off. My soil was down in the red range (like 4.0) when I tested the runoff the first time.

Just let it run out of the bottom for a bit & it'll run pretty clear. Check it with the kit & see about where you are.

Use your fingers to aerate the top inch or two of soil to prevent dead pockets. (places that hold air & don't receive water)
