Quick question

I'm wondering how to figure out how many lights to use for an indoor grow. The room is 14'x9'

to light the entire 14'x9' it will require about 6000watts of lights. if it's for personal use, I suggest that you do a small area inside that room

Yea, you need to figure out exactly what your plant footprint is in that room and then design your lighting to that. You need to factor in ceiling height; cooling; plant size, etc...
