I have recently purchased an 8x4 tray for a flood and drain system and have access to a 40 gallon reservoir. Is the 40 gallon going to be big enough or do i need to go purchase a larger reservoir.
A 40 gallon reservoir is the right size for a 4x4 tray. For the 4x8 you'll need an 80 gallon.I have recently purchased an 8x4 tray for a flood and drain system and have access to a 40 gallon reservoir. Is the 40 gallon going to be big enough or do i need to go purchase a larger reservoir.
Sadly it wont work. Since 40 gallons is only half of whats needed to fill the tray it'll only fill up half way. You'll get only half of the water level required to really soak those blocks. You COULD get another 40 gallon res, and then connect them together with some pvc pipe. But the trays are so cheap its not probably worth bothering. Thanks for the quick reply. What would be the difference if i used the 40 gallon? kinda a last minute issue here, else I would be doing my reading and research.
