But I wouldn't expect huge plants..

imo no. They will keep it alive, but I personally would be very disappointed in the results.

Would a 100 Watt uva uvb lizard light work as a temporary grow lamp?

get some twin bulb adapters(expensive 2.50 each) and some vanity bars(found mine at local thrift stores 2$ each (15$ retail). Lowes has SPECTACULARLY cheap 23w 65k 4packs (4$)
