Thanks. I got a very good idea using these ssr relays.these relays will last forever as long as u don't exceed its rating or close into a short.
Thanks again

I think this is the one that you are talking about. Thanks againJust so u know you will still have voltage present at your light, it just wont turn on until this relay energizes. If you want no voltage present you will need a 3 phase ssr or a double pole ssr. Ssr= solid state relay.
Your talking about a contactor relay box for all the lamps right? Iam gonna read this entire thread but I too have looked in the past for a more quiet relay. When the trigger cord/timer kicks on that relay makes a very loud "POP" sound. Not now (its not a big deal) but in the past at another spot I needed it quiet. Got hold of electricians and mu local electric store and they said they all do this. Annoying as hell. And not stealthy at all. If this is what your talking about.Hi guys and gals I’m trying to keep my grow room as quiet as possible. The only problem is when lights turn on and off you can hear the click of the furnas double pole contactor 110v coil. Can someone point me out to a quiet contactor.
I’m pulling around 500 - 550 watts @ 220v
Thanks happy growing

Way off topic but can I ask you European growers..is it so generally cold over there that you guys dont need air cooled/ducted hoods (because from photos of Europe growrooms you definitely dont use them nor 1000 watt hid lamps - just sixers) and from photos I never see air conditioners (mini splits or otherwise)? Even your bigger rooms packed loaded full of 600 watt sodium lamps - I never see an air conditioner in the photo or hear of you guys using them. How can that be? It cant be that much cooler generally outside than us Yanks in America. Here..even with air cooled hoods with ducting and fans getting rid of most of the heat...after so many lamps/wattage your still probably going to need an air conditioner of some sort..especially from June till about September. Just about any state in the U.S. And whats with those big box looking things always mounted to your ceilings? Air exchange/handlers? Sorry OP for jacking your thread on loud relay clicking as well. I apologize and if any of you European growers wanna chat on how you guys generally run your systems (i have an idea but not specific details - we can chat or start a thread). Carry on. And again OP...Iam sorry to derail your thread.Forgive my ignorance but what does it do, is it for the lighting or the AC?
We don't have AC typically over here but we plug our lights into a contactor to stop the surge tripping the fuses or blowing the timers. Is that what your talking about? If so both mine came from hydro shops and don't make a sound, one can handle 2kw and cost about £10( its just a bulky plug with 1 socket and built in timer) the other can handle 3kw and has an extension attached for 4 plugs and cost about £25.
If I'm off track then ignore my comment, otherwise check out any hydro shop.
Yes. I know that freaking pop is loud as hell. My grow room is in my garage and I have a chest freezer for beer and meat. I do a lot of bbq and I’m pretty sure one of these days one of my friends will notice that pop. everything is silent except that contactor.Your talking about a contactor relay box for all the lamps right? Is that a home made contactor relay? If it is..it looks pro. Nice. Ive always just bought the way overpriced ones from the grow shops. My electrician friend awhile back was over at another location and I opened up my Autopilot 8000 watt relay for him..amd he said "how much did you pay for this"?? I told him and he just laughed. Amd he also said they could of used much better components here and there but said it would suffice. I havent opened one up nor bought one but have grower buddys that own them... ive heard the boxes by PowerBox make really good ones. All metal casing and i think made in America. But they are pricey. If I ever build another or bigger room..I will look into building my own. They look simple enough and I can build it to my quality/standards.Yes. I know that freaking pop is loud as hell. Now I’m building a box controller for those cobs
Thanks

Thanks but no I was testing that contactor before I put it in one of those grey plastic box and wire everything with the trigger wire but unfortunately is loud as hell for my stealth room.Is that a home made contactor relay? Yeah we do run air cooled hoods, I know I used to before switching to LED, but probably not as common, of the 10ish growers I know in the real world here I guess maybe 2 of those use air cooling. We generally don't have AC built in to houses although possibly they are more common in posh hotels.Way off topic but can I ask you European growers..is it so generally cold over there that you guys dont need air cooled/ducted hoods (because from photos of Europe growrooms you definitely dont use them nor 1000 watt hid lamps - just sixers) and from photos I never see air conditioners (mini splits or otherwise)? Electricity costs a lot more over their, same with fuel so generators cant be a substitute.Way off topic but can I ask you European growers..is it so generally cold over there that you guys dont need air cooled/ducted hoods (because from photos of Europe growrooms you definitely dont use them nor 1000 watt hid lamps - just sixers) and from photos I never see air conditioners (mini splits or otherwise)?
