Bought a vortex "s" line and found it cheaply made and way loud ...sent it back and bought a "Soler & Palau" silent line and have been very happy.

Just ordered the ac infinity 6” model with thermostat control. 32db low somewhere around though there is a video on full at 56db
Price I paid was main factor at $98 with card rebates etc.

Hyperfan stealth another great alternative to the can fan q max pro as some have mentioned.
Hyperfan typically a bit cheaper if it matters. I litterally just went through this issue trying to find something if not for price would have gone with hyperfan. Also can always make your own muffler for fan if needed.

Yes it would certainly help, but given the material it could be very feeble improvement. There are special thick sound damping cloths you could make like a cover for your tent from, I guess. But that calls for sewing or other innovative ideas.
You can quiet your fan by making a box for it and/or putting fan muffler tubing on both sides- inhale and exhale of the fan. There are many pretty easy ways of making that with egg foam. If you can, use insulated hose ducting. Note that except the box, all the solutions reduce airflow.
I would also consider some dust filters on all intakes. You really wanna the cleanest air coming in your garden.

I have an isomax, formerly airforce2. They are powerful and good fans. The issue I have with them is they come with a built in electronic speed controller, although the manufacturers stated you can turn it to full and hook up a variac speed controller they do have a little hum.
I have had mine on for nearly 8 years 24hours a day. So they are a quality fan.
Here is a fan test of the S and P td silent, if you look at all their vids they test all major branded fans.
At the end of the day the best option is to buy a big fan and have it run low speed using a variable transformer.
