I have never really tryed to read the quran and i was looking around today and read the first 2 chapters. I just thought it was funny that in the 2nd chapter it says to beware of people saying they are muslims but are actually not. and they are the real people who will destroy things. sounds a lot like an extremist muslim to me. especially since a lot of people say that muslims are actually good and theres just some bad ones. why would a muslim not read the 2nd chapter and realize that people trying to recruit them to do evil are bad people.
these are 2 different peoples translations of each verse. 2nd chapter. AL-baqarah

Like virtually any religious text there are contradictory passages. Sometimes things are meant to be symbolic, others literal. Different clerics and scholars interpret things differently. Religion has oft been used to sway a populace, usually by politicians or zealots who have some sort of agenda. Many muslims have been told that the U.S. is the "great satan" and that we are invading their lands and raping their women (which we kind of are). Jihad seems to be a catch all that's meaning has been perverted and used to justify atrocities. There is no justification for killing unarmed citizens in a suprise attack, period! Wars can and have been won without resorting to this sort of tactic even by outmanned and outgunned groups.

Sahih International
Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
Muhsin Khan
Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.

Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

Muhsin Khan
Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment.

Sahih International
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers.
Muhsin Khan
And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day" while in fact they believe not.

Sahih International
They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.
Muhsin Khan
They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not!

Sahih International
In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.
Muhsin Khan
In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.

Sahih International
And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers."
Muhsin Khan
And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peacemakers."

Sahih International
Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.
Muhsin Khan
Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not.

judge people not by the color of their skin but the content of their character. until they start treating their own women and children like human beings, they are scum. funny how people say, "respect others cultures". really? lets have detroit muslims start making it mandatory for women to wear headscarfs, get stoned (by rocks, not weed) if they cheat on their husbands, and honor kill their daughters....cuz that IS the muslim culture all over the world. its not isolated incidents, its common practice.

nope, aint gonna respect that culture. they are no better than slave holders of the past....disgusting.

Most of them do. If that weren't the case we be seeing a lot MORE violence in the name of islam since the muslims of the world outnumber americans about 5 to 1...

I think the draw towards al-quaeda has a lot to do with socio-economic and political issues than it does with religion. If you're an unemployed 20-something from yemen without much education and someone tells you that you can do something great for your people and for your religion by fighting the west, that message will resonate the same way the words of an army recruiter would with a person in a similar situation over here. "be part of something bigger, etc."

If we take the simplistic approach and blame a religion for the problem rather than looking at all the factors involved, we're going to have a hard time winning the 'global war on terror'. Not saying that religion has nothing to do with it, either, just that there's more to it than that.

You are point out right . It is true that In the muslim culture, Women have necessary to wear handcrafts.. So in the sense , We can say that Muslim are not follow the rules and regulation of Quran. So We can say that All the Muslim are illiterate people. Quran say that Respect to the women.
