i do the same, 200 proof in a freezer next to a fat jar of good bud overnight, i pour swirl for 10 secs and pour through strainer to quick remove the bud, it leaves barely anything after but a bit pollen floating, i run through 2 unbleached coffee filters, boom gold yummness love you qwizoking you are my idol and a just monarch

I gotta try this 200 proof Ethanol for a run lol. I've only used 151 and 190.

Curious on something. I do 100% ethanol for my extraction. Would there be any reason why I couldn't do a quick wash of one ball jar of material (approx. 1 oz), strain it, put the ethanol back in the freezer, and then use the same ethanol to extract from a second oz, essentially using the same alcohol for two first runs? Seems like it could make evap easier and cost less but I don't know if the alcohol somehow loses its extraction abilities.

I've done 91% iso double,triple,quad washes.I think there is a level of saturation,whereas after a triple it seems to leave more on the material than wash it off.I do pretty quick washes depending on quality of material,maybe longer washes of frozen(I don't freeze)would extract more into a triple run room temp iso...lol..I hope this makes sense.
Like maybe do a double or triple wash,then dip your bud in it,let it dry....and then you got a double thc bud/jk

You can continue to wash with it, until it saturates, but it will leave a progressively enriched film behind, so I would rinse with a fresh solution afterwards, to glean that material.

hey if im using stuff i already ran threw bho.. i dont run lots of cans.. i like the best.. and leave the rest for edibles.. so i am wondering. whats my best method.. of extracting like 10-15lbs of material?.. basically just for edibles.. honestly .going to decarb it and everything. put into capsules and vials for edibles.. im looking for a cheap but safe solvent to do this wash.. im thining maybe a 5 gallon bucket.. and cut the bottom off.. like doing bubble bags.. put inside of another bucket.. and then put a bubble bag. 25micron over the cut out bottom. and just pour it threw.. not trying to pull tons of chlorophyll as it fucks with my stomach kinda like a quick rinse....

i wondering if i would be better off waiting until i get my closed loop and just run it all over again.. and then make into edibles..

and just to be clear too.. 2/3rs the material was nug runs.. and ive re ran a single tube of the previously run stuff. and got 4 grams off 100gram tube. its obviosly sappy and darker then normal. but for edibles.. decarbing is going to do that either way..

and im not doing this because im hard up for money or anything.. just because the last 4 grams i made.. i made into 20 caps.. and gave them away.. and everyone is begging me for more.. and i dont like decarbing good bho.. so i figured. they all liked the downer sleepy affect. most of them have insomnia.. so it worked great..

If it has already been run once using butane, I would finish with butane. Just repack and run it again.

What kind of yields do you guys usually get?

I do 3 washes with my bud. 15 - 30 - 60 second washes and strain into seperate glass dishes and let air dry.

I'm waiting for a good scale to come in that I ordered to see my full yield from the combination of the 3 washes but wanted to know what u guys usually average with an oz wash?

Depending on the material I typically get between 12-17% total return after 3 washes.

I was under the impression that you only need to do 1 wash. Have I been wasting stuff?

You have been wasting stuff yes. The first wash is usually my heaviest, and is always the nicest tastiest, but the second wash is always pretty good as well. The third wash I usually use for edibles.

yeh you're deff wasting..do 3 runs each one longer than the other but no more than a minute and you'll get a nice yield.

I honestly think all 3 batches are perfect for smocking. All 3 diff washes dabed, vaped or smoked will rock your ass. I mix them all together and add PG and vape.

You yeah they will all be good enough you can smoke them all and I do some times. Usually the third wash just doesn't really taste that great when vaped or smoked. Typically I have plenty of A or B grade stuff I don't need to smoke the C grade.

Does anyone ever let their qwiso evap in their tent? would it have any adverse effects on the girls living in there? i just want to lose the whole smell aspect of this process.

You potentially could, ive rigged an inline + carbon filter before to speed evap and remove odor/keep solution clean and free of debris.
You just wanna make sure your extract is out of the light if you put it in your tent, complete darkness is ideal.
It will not have any impact on the plants
