Rain Over Watering Issues

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some opinions and suggestions for an outdoor crop, planted in the ground, which is suffering from over watering (wilting) from a few days of really hard showers. Some of the areas in which they are planted and puddled, under water, while other areas are mostly just very wet. Many of the plants have now started wilting after about 2 days, at various degrees and now after finally getting some sun, it is suppose to rain again.

They have been planted in the ground for a couple of weeks, and were really doing well. They are of various sizes, but most of them are waist high, bushy, and a couple months old. They were transplanted out of a 3 gallon pot into the ground. I also have smaller ones that are about 4 weeks old and about a foot-1.5feet tall which I have not checked on but am assuming the same for them.

I guess I have planted many of them in a terrain that is too low and prone to flooding. It is within a forest that gets about 8-10hrs of direct light. But some areas are lower than others in which the rain is draining to. What should I do???

Should I try to dig out the wilted ones and perhaps place them in 10gallon grow bags?

How long can they withstand overwatering symptoms before they drown or die?

There are also a large scale of them, as I was considering trenching, but would not be feasible to the scale it is and large surface area.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated! Too much work and effort for me to see them go!

Thanks for your opinion. That's just what I did. I guess all I can do is wait and see if they come back! It's strange though, some were dripping wet which I understand would wilt, but others weren't drenched (just damp) and still wilted. Anyways, I put them in 10 gal bags with dry promix. Hopefully this helps
