better ph the rain water - especially if you are in/near a big city

Acid rain is caused by the water being exposed to high concentrations of co2 in the atmosphere...

Well logically Nitrogen is actually more abundant in the atmosphere than Oxygen so I would assume he's probably correct. If it's good enough for mother earth it's probably good enough for your babies too, right?

Heres my experience with rain water. When i add my nutes to rain water, i always have to bring the pH up because it goes too low for my soil plants. When i add my nutes to tap water, my pH goes to 6.4 almost everytime and thats where i leave it.

I find filtered rain water works great in my hydro experiments. After i add my nutes the pH is basically right where it needs to be for hydro. I find the pH doesn't fluctuate much either when i use the rain water.

I used rain water in mt first grow. I collected it in buckets then poured it through a charcoal brita filter before using it. Thisng brings the ppms way down. I store it in large 20 litre water jugs. Sure cuts down on the cost of distilled or bottled water. I filtre the water cause sometimes when it rains the first bit of rain contains acid or other harsh chemicals that sit in the air. :peace:
