Due to elements in my past I can tell you that 15% is not what a shark will charge you-on a short term loan to be paid in full in under a month-interest included.A loan of 5000. will cost you from one I know would cost you 2500.-in interest for use of the money for 1 month.That is only if you pay it in full-vig and all.A shark is in the business of making money-and not really interested in being paid off-once on the hook,you never catch up.You end up with someone in your kitchen removing one or all off your fingers in front of your wife and kids-dont have a wife and kids-no problem,hows your mom,dad,sister doing?Dont do it- a real bad idea-your crop fails or you get busted.Dont care-wwheres the money.Dont be stupid.

This is pretty much what I came in to say... If you have to ask, especially on an internet forum, you're lacking the prerequisite criminal history to survive a loan shark long-term. Even short-term, your odds of surviving without a lot of criminal background isn't great.
Grow small, self-finance. Best advice is don't be someone's next victim. And, victim you'll become. You won't pull the 20K+ from your grow that'll be due after your first grow cycle. And, good luck hitting the goal with a single hermie busting a nut on your girls, or a bust. Loan sharks aren't angel lenders, nor are they venture capitalists. You could always approach a cartel with a solid product, and solicit funds from them, but, there's no payback on that. You get their money, they are buying YOU. When you've burned out your usefulness, they will get rid of you.

The 15% joke aside, I've known loan sharks that penalize for early payoffs -- it cuts into the interest...

My whole post was not meant to be taken literally. It's exaggeration. It's about showing the initiative to respect the italian loansharks ya know...because they value respect so much. I'm making fun of the hardcore italians.

Another trick they use is they will only let you pay it back on 1 particular day and that day and for the week after they just simply wont answer the phone/door to you so you owe another weeks interest

You definitely don't want to get wrapped-up with dudes like that...or you'll end-up getting wrapped-up & tossed into a 6 ft hole. That's after about a 1/2 hr of beating. Those guys are DEAD serious...fuggedaboutit!!

Local collections end-game used to be wrap ya up in a wool blanket, wrap ya up some more with some heavy plastic sheeting, make sure you can't squirm out (you'll be conscious and barely broken up.) Then you'll go into the trunk of a nice 80's car (like a cutlass or regal) ... About a dozen cinder blocks will be added around you, in said trunk. You'll then go down the nice long dirt "roads" out through the rez and to the wilderness rez. If you are still alive, it kinda' sucks, cuz the wild pigs aren't merciful about eating you. They just flip the roll, take the plastic off and feed the wild life.

One i saw once was a muslim bloke who couldnt pay was hog-tied, had bottle after bottle of whiskey forced down his throat and then was completely wrapped in bacon and pork meat and dumped on the doorstep of the mosque he attended just as everyone was walking in, and that was only his warning!
