It's been so long since I have posted here geesh.... So I have built out an RDWC system now. My trash can is my reservoir, a 13.1-gallon trash can; the totes are 12gallon heavy duty. When I fill the trash can it takes 25 gallons to level point. My question is? is that the true fluid gallons of each tote since it is 25 in the reservoir? Thank you for the help and I'm glad to be back

You wanna fill up so the water level is equal, and roughly an inch below the bottom of the net pots in the planting containers. That should be your max fill line, regardless of everything else or what the stickers claim on the containers, or how much plumbing is involved. Whatever amount it takes to get there would be your total capacity, combined throughout the whole system.

Which we would add is in the running condition not off or static. You may need to balance your pump volume as too high a pump volume runs the first bucket level higher than the following buckets. Unless you have 3 inch pipes.......

Just measure your fill and mix for the total. You’ll probably have extra solution by the end of stretch in flower and your roots are fully mature. My systems 13 gallons full at the start (3 plant buckets and a res all 5 gallon buckets) and like 9-10 by mid bloom
