A wild lurker appears....

I have decided to document my grow. I hope to share in my experience, but there's always so much more to learn so please feel free to offer advice!

The Grow Room:

The room dimensions are L-66" x W-56" x H-80"

Hardware:

Lighting - Sunblaster 200w for Veg and Hilux 1000w HPS for flower

Veg Light

Flower light - Air in Cool tube is pushed with a 6" 480 CFM inline fan

Veg light connection. One rope can easily be adjusted to move the light up and down as the canopy grows. Second rope is set to max length and is a fail safe to keep the light from falling on the canopy causing damage to the plants. Veg light is removed during flower period.

Carbon Filter - Air is sucked through the filter with a 4" 240 CFM inline fan

The Grow System:

6 RDWC buckets. 2 return lines per bucket and 1 air stone

The plumbing

Simple reservoir made from rubbermaid container

Return pump and an airstone inside

Air pumps. Each pump supplies air to 2x buckets. The reservoir has it's own air pump. The towels help suppress the vibration noise.

Alright that's the setup. Now to give you guys some eye candy! Here are some pictures I have taken of some of my previous grows.

Dude, Subbed! Love the screen! The strain choices are a perfect compliment. I see your funky hat, this AINT the first rodeo! Have you germed yet? Im impressed that the size fan you have effectively cools that area, not so much impressed as jealous! Looking forward to watching the TD! -S0uP

Day 1

For this grow I am using feminized seeds and will be growing:
Green house seeds - White Widow
Barneys farm - Tangerine Dream
G12 Labs - Pineapple Express

The beans have popped and are placed inside the rock wool. One seed contained two plants.

Once the seedlings have developed a tap root I place them into their baskets and they spend time in this tub while they develop a root structure. The close water level allows the bottom of the baskets to be misted by the air stone which stimulates good root growth out of the basket.

That little fan you see in the pictures is just a mini fan that I mounted to some wood and I use it to get circulation to any dead zones that come from thick plants. The cool tube keeps the 1000w HPS are a reasonable temperature and the carbon filter keeps the room at a negative pressure and removes enough hot air to keep the room around 21 Celsius. I do place a larger fan in the room pointed at the plants for their pleasure.

Day 2

The Pineapple Express beans are off to a head start. You can see the second one just about to poke her head out. Hopefully the other 4 girls are right behind.

Day 7

Transferred the seedlings into their larger cubes today. They are now receiving their first feedings that include a very low dose of nutrients. I use 1ml of flora micro/grow/bloom in 1 liter of water for the next 4-5 days before increasing the dosage.

Day 13

The plants have been put into their baskets, and until they have developed a root system that hangs from the baskets they will be in this community tub. Within the next couple of weeks they will be placed into their 5 gallon pails. Some of the tips of the plants have slight nute burn from adjusting to the increased stength of the nutes. When I see this happen I pour some straight water into the baskets which I find helps to wash out some of the nute salts from the rock wool and baskets.
