re-activating carbon filters?

just a ponder... I have some hunting clothes that contain activated carbon used for scent control in the woods. they work great, but after a little while they start to lose their scent control, just like my carbon filters (store bought and homemade). their instructions say to reactivate the carbon, just put the clothes in the dryer for a cycle and they are as good as new. now my wifes new dryer came with a rack that mounts inside and doesn't tumble, for sweaters or god knows what. heres what im pondering... putting a carbon filter on the rack and reactivating the carbon. has anyone tried this or has any ideas about it?

I asked a question similar to that in another form. A guy implied that it couldn't be done with the head of OSHA being there along with a team of engineers (ok i'm exaggerating a tad lol). Seems the temps need to be insanely high to get the VOC's burned off Never really got a clear answer.Coincidentally, he had a website to the carbon filters he sells in his sig. No conflict i guess. He's objective. lol

If you reply to this and are interested i'lll send the link.
cheers

Im gonna try it when i can smell that mine has quit working, that way i can smell if it worked. I only pay $60 for them anyway. But they may just be saying that for job security. That would cut a big chunk of their sales if all of a sudden they started lasting 6-8 years, lol.

i bought mine from htg supplys its one of the big ones, i was wondering if you could put it in the butane smoker after cleaning it out it should heat up plenty. do this after you was in carbon cleaner. ??? its worth a try.i have an old one lying in my garage ill try and do it too. if i can get the smell out of the smoker., i only used it 1 time so it shouldnt be too bad.
