good thing I wasn't talking to you..or is the OP your sp?
You got your opinion and mine is you can sit on that finger!
Another fucking newbie with all the answers!
If your an organic puritan, fine for you. But the minute you say something stupid like "neem is the best" you expose yourself for the inexperienced newb you are!
The only good thing I have to say about Neem is that it seems in a recent study. Neem may not produce "super mites" (immune to the treatment) like about every other contact killer......
Mites do not get "immune" to forbid.

Forbid (under another name and twice as concentrated/applied is used on foods you eat everyday) is NOT systemic!
Under toxicity testing it was found that it's dbl strength brother CAN cause eye irritation if the concentrate gets in your eye's and POSSIBLE skin irritation as it's a Tetronic acid......Kinda odd as the skin lotions that contain "Alpha Hydroxy" are Tetronic acids!!!

Before I USE a product to "kill" pests. I do research on it....I don't look at "Warning labels" as those are generic government requirements and convey almost NO reality to what is in the bottle. I search toxicity reports. Those are complete and give you far more information then ANY fucking label!

In those reports. It is found to have NO negative health effects on human beings, even in the concetrated form!

I also go another step and research the chemical name as you get even MORE information to use in deciding if it's safe enough to use.

With that in mind and your lack of real knowledge on Forbid, I give you this tidbit of info.

Forbid, which blocks fat synthesis so the mites dry out and die. This mode of activity, inhibiting lipid biosynthesis thus causing dessication (i.e., drying-out), is virtually the same as that of soaps and oils.

Tetronic acids, 4-hydroxy-[5H] furan-2-ones, are compounds with antibiotic, antiviral, antineoplastic, and anticoagulant activity [10, 11]. Compounds which have been isolated from natural products and exhibit such activity are tetronasin [12], RK-682 [2, 13], the well-known family of compounds named vulpinic acids [14, 15] and many others.

How about you all read this "journal" or "paper" on Tetramic and Tetronic acids. VERY informative!

http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bca/2010/315056/

Now swish your finger around a bit, before removing it to suck on......That way you can spew more shit!

BTW. If you deeply research Neem....It appears to be MORE toxic then FORBID!

Learn something I hope :dunce:

I also think you're running your ph too high.......5.6 to 5.8 is where you should be, not higher. Lockup is probably partially caused by you running too high.
Here comes the opinion factor! No offence SSHZ! I respect yours too!
I strongly disagree with continuously running pH that low in hydro!!!!

5.6 - 6.3 is a general given range...You should let it rise after setting so low to the 6.1 range....(OP),Remember what I said about the natural swing in pH so nutrients can be up-taken evenly? Eventually the pH will settle in and swing very little....5.7 - 6.0 or 5.8 - 6.0 is very easy to hold. Good range and results for me there.

Holding at 5.8 can be a problem.....I always had my best results between 5.8 and 6.1.......I found that keeping pH lower then 5.8 for extended periods gave me problems fast......

My 2 cents

I bow to dr. Who, who obviously has more hydro experience than I do and even I would probably would follow his opinion before mine.....but when I did hydro, many years ago and a rather large system with 300 smaller plants in the unit, I found if I kept the ph on the lower side, it allowed for the gradual rise without any ill effects. If you start on the higher end, and it keeps going up after that, problems were not far behind. It wasn't DWC though, just a 6 inch pipe system that the plants sat in thru holes on the top snaked thru a 25ft X 25ft room with pumps to fill and gravity drain. Water temps were always my issue, never pH.
