Ready for 12/12?

First time I've done photoperiods and thinking of flipping to 12/12 this coming weekend (23rd Jan) and just wandered what anyone thought! Got a LA Cheese (big Buddha) 6 weeks from sprout that I've topped twice ( I planted one of the tops) & a Blue Cheese & Pineapple Skunk 4 weeks from sprout. Here's some pics:

Im currently using 250 hps & got 400 hps for flower. I don't need the biggest yield ever as My girlfriends just quit. I'm after quality! Should 1 more week of veg be sufficient or should I give it 2? They are all showing female preflowers apart from the PS.

If your not in a rush I would wait the the two weeks but you could flip them any time and have a good harvest

Thanks dude! I'm not in the biggest rush, I've got 2oz blue Kush, 1 oz mamba negra and 1+oz critical cheese to last me. Gonna flower for prob 9 weeks maybe more. I've been pulling 8.5-9oz off autos with 250hps in the same set up so hoping for about the same but just stronger and denser buds. Don't get me wrong these autos got me high as a muther fucker, just hoping the autos will be a different league! Peace!

Do I need to wait till the PS shows pre flowers or can I flip anyway? Ive read in my book you should wait till you see them but I'm not sure. I'm prob gonna give it the 2 more weeks anyway, was just for future reference.

I've never had to wait for pre flowers to show. Keep in mind the height of your plants vs. the height of your tent. Expect the plants to double in height throughout the flower cycle then make calculations as to when you will need to flip the lights.

Ok, thanks. I just wasn't sure. That's gonna be my problem, my tent is only 1.7m high. The topped LA is small & bushy. The other 2 are 2 weeks behind & not topped, so if I flip soon I should be good, I hope.

I would flip asap if its only a 1.7m , Try to spread the canopy out as much as you can rather then let it grow upwards.

It doesnt look like you will run out of room but its always nice to play it safe.

I agree with GhostBud420's suggestion. 1.7m (~5.6ft) is pretty small. Tie that plant back and flip em soon. Once you flip to 12/12, they will double in size and you will quickly run out of horizontal space.

Just flipped them today to 12/12 and now on 400w hps. Also got a new 6" rhino extractor & carbon filter to handle the heat fan turned only half way up temps at 24.3C RH 51%. The fan is huge! I'm moving it outside the tent next week to save on room.

Nice setup man. Wise move putting them into flower. Just be careful of them getting too close to that light. It may just be the angle of the photograph, but it looks fairly close. Wouldn't wanna get light bleached buds.

Thanks dude! I've moved it since the photo! The photo was from yest when it was still on 250hps! I usually use the back of the hand method to double check.
