The PARADOX inherent in the NEWBS FIRST GROW.

On a persons first ever grow they really should do as little as possible.
No topping, cropping, pruning, FIMing, supercropping, mainlining, LST'ing, HST'ing, SOGging, ScrOGging.....
OBSERVING
Sitting back, perfecting the basics and WATCHING

BUT, because it's your first grow, and you're excited about it AND eager to learn EVERYTHING - NOW!
TO EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING, NOW! you tend to try and do things that really don't need doing
AND WAITING 9 WEEKS FOR YOUR FIRST FLOWER TO END SEEMS LIKE 9 YEARS....

For this reason it is important that NEWBS are made to feel afraid and worthless by the more experienced members of the forum.
Trust me, they'll thank you later.

It's an ambiguous term.
We find it obvious because we've been reading about it (in context) and discussing it.

I was annoyed because he attempted to make his newbie mistake into some advanced research project
(I don't like it when people try to bullshit me).
Then he asked "What's light leak?"
Which NO grower who was using ADVANCED RESEARCH PRUNING TECHNIQUES
WOULE EVER HAVE TO ASK.

It's like some guy saying:
"I nearly drowned because I attempted a super professional swimming style"
then saying
"What's a breast stroke?"
When he should have just said
"I nearly drowned because I tried to go down the rapids before I'd learned the basics of swimming".

Its a very renewable resource so you have only set your grow back not caused death to a family member. It is a free country. If possible try to forget yield
And focus on basics you will be ahead of the game.
After a few grows you will have a solid starting point to experiment making it possible to judge the results.

In my case I have started enjoying growing and the chores but at first I was
A nervous wreck. After repetition and tons of reading I have relaxed.
I have experiments in mind but
Have learned to study long and hard
Some varieties do better than others in certain situations. Set yourself up for
Success and don't pressure yourself.

If you can do that you can be having
Very fine smoke in time. Maybe this time still.

yeah I cant figure out why they do that, thaks though! any rough idea how long till harvest? And some curing techniques would be appreciated as well

It's typically best to judge the harvest time on the color of the trichrome, do you have a loupe or microscope?

I will invest in one for sure! im looking for more of an uplifting high so like 40% of the hairs should be darkened?

we always try our best to achieve 90% milky, 5% clear and 5% amber

It's the milky trichromes that gives you the uplifting high, but also very strain dependent.

yeah, I see that by your previous post, as it's not the red hairs you need to be concerned about, but rather the amber trichromes
this is why you need at least a 30x loupe or microscope
