Ready to top or not?

Do you think this plant is ready to be topped? Or how about super cropped? It's working on it's 4th node right now, with the 5th node's leaves starting to come out as well.

IMO i would grow them longer 1 or 2 more nodes. THese are seedlings right? From your pics they look like they can grow somemore set of leaves, then top them. This will give them the extra energy instead of stunting them at this early stage

Cool! Thanks guys... but a question I have is how many times do you think I'll top it if I want it to be 2-3' tall when it's done? I know it has to do with how compact it is but an estimate would be cool... also,
when you top it does it do this?

or does it do this?

(and so on...)

Do you understand by my high quality diagram? If not I'll rephrase, lemme know!

some strains topped once can produce many branches, some only a few,it really depends on the genetics, but if you want a bush 2 toppings is usually good.and depending on the genetics of the seed i will top any were from the 3rd to 5yh node, remember some strains stretch like hell.but i dont know how much hell really stretches,i guess it depends on how many bad people.

Well, so far it's been pretty compact. I think I'm gonna cut out the 5th developing node. Still waiting for an answer of how the stalk grows once it's been topped.

well i'm not that experienced and your diagram is rather rudimentary but I would say the first one looks mor elike it. you don't often see three patterns. Where the next set of leaves would have emerged form two sets of leaves, support by two stems. These two stalks then grow normally from that V.

i had a male that produced 4 symetrical tops every topping instead of 2,i wish it was a female because it was a neat plant.

I top mine using Uncle Ben's topping method (about an inch above the second true node - you don't count where those first, single bladed leaves come out) and always get four tops. Here's a couple pics of my Trainwreck girls through veg, you can see they have four colas, instead of the single "christmas tree". I usually top mine around three weeks old, when they are four to five nodes high.
