Real Weird, Help.

Hey guys, so I got two plants growing in my dwc currently. The enviroment temps have been high causing the leaves to canoe and tips to curl. I wanted to cool it down in there so I hooked my exhaust fan up and its staying around 75. While changing the fan and moving the lights up some, I decided I would mist the two fellas and blow the excess water off with my co2 tank. Problem is, when I go to blow the water off I find this leaf that is shriveled up and about 1/4 the size it was minutes before. I dont know if it was shock from the misting or if it occured at an earlier time. Pictures from 2 or 3 hours earlier show a perfectly healthy leaf in place of it. My ppms are at 500, ph stays from 5.8-6.5, res temps are kept at 60, RH 50%, lights 400 watt mh 16 inches away. What is this?

Healthy:IMAG0483.jpgShrunk:IMAG0499.jpg Pictures are 4 hours apart, 1 pm and 5 pm. Although I believe this might have occurred from spraying. None of the other leaves were affected though?

PPM is far too high for plants at this stage. Drain and refill, adjust PPM to no more than 250-300, pH at 5.7-5.9. Get lots more air moving.

Ya, id back off the nutes. Pull some of the solution out of the rez and go water your house plants and then replace it with regular water. You shouldnt need 500 ppm for a month about. Id also move the 400 up a bit just to be on the safe side. I belive i read that canoeing can be the result of heat stress, or was it too much light? I think it was heat. Either way id move it up just to eliminate that possibility. Im noobish so thats just my opinion, good luck and i hope they come around for ya bud :):):)

i appreciate all the help guys, any idea as to why the shrinkage occured. I cant believe these variables everyone is telling me to adjust suddenly ( 3 hours tops) made the leaf shrink. It looks like It's still healthy just maybe retracted due to shock or something. Think it will grow back out?

No idea. Never had it happen. But I have seen humans lose 3 clothing sizes in 4 hours of hemodialysis.

I believe I spotted part of the problem ... using pure CO2 as compressed air. That'll burn the leaves some.

I am also curious as to what your initial water quality is. cn

Im using distilled water, ppms are about 10 with no nutes, used cal-mag and dynagro all purpose for nutes. As for the co2 i took it out being that o can no longer use it with exhaust fan all the time. Thx again for all the help, looks as if the leaf that shrunk is gonna die, rest the plant seems to be recovering, starting to unfold again.
