Reality Check Me

Okay so I've had a life changing plan. I just want to know from maybe some of you guys that might have experience in the matter. Is it realistic.
I have been renting a house for 9 months. In all that time my landlord has never visited for any reason. He even told me that he didn't care if I smoked pot in the house as long as I didn't smoke cigarettes so I'm not worried about the landlord. In three months I come into an inheritance. It's a lot of money but not enough to quit my job UNLESS I use some of it to build a grow op in my basement. My budget is $5000. I have a 12' x 33' room for flowering and a 9' x 12' room for veg.

So my questions are:
1. Is the budget reasonable? (Construction, Lights, Electrical, Ducting, Basins, Pots, Seeds, Grow Medium, Fans, Nutrients, Hoses, Pumps, Filters, Cleaning Supplies, Cloning)
2. With the space available is it going to be possible to yield 5 pounds per month?
3. As somebody with no growing experience, do I really even have a chance making this work. If not are there any steps I could take in the next three months leading up to the date I plan to begin working on this that would increase my chances of making it work?

1. for the entire sq footage....you do not have enough money unless you have good air cooling downstairs already and don't need an electrical upgrade. you dont want to burn yuor house down. factor 500 per 5x5 tray including light, ballast, bulb, pots and soil. you want a few feet in between each tray to walk and maintain. you have 396 sq ft so i would do 10-12 lights maximum in that room but you need some AC down there and probably want to do a closed system. you will need big cardbon scrubber, 2 big ones and fans....and you are way over 5 grand for this.

* with tents you will save in the long run on cooling and electricity...

2. yes if you know what you are doing, might want to buy tents so you can have cycles going on for a continual harvest

3. no, start small and know what you are doing than do it. i would invest your future in this....overhead is also high, your electrical bill will be close to a g a month with that set up and another few hundred in nutrients if you dont know what you are doing you are wasting all that money and time growing for nothing!

spend some time on here and learn some shit you will have tons of questions but read up and youll be good

Start small man. Trying to get 5 pounds per month in the beginning is a ridiculous, and sorry but stupid, goal. That's only going to land you in trouble more than likely, you don't even know how bad 2 plants are going to stink more than likely, regardless of the amount of plants it takes to get that much.

yea it can be done just might not be the best set up...

i would use 600 watt lights as they are more efficient and again will keep heating and cooling costs down

You have the money, the space, you can learn how, but you might be lacking the most important parts like how to get rid of it, and how to not get ripped off or killed or end up in jail.

Being alive and free and sleeping in complete peace at night are more valuable than you think.

If you're going to take the risk, don't even talk about it. You can't do it alone you'll always have some vulnerability even if it's just one person you sell to, but post anything online during these days of the patriot act and you're just asking to get some man love in jail.

TRUE, also remember that electricity and your overhead is only going to rise and mmj depending on what state you are on is coming down in price very fast...i dont know if i would invest my future in a grow house.

growing is great when its perfect but a bitch when there are problems, start small and learn 1st.

What he said, it sounds to me that you're trying to start up a grow so you can start dealing and quit your job. Dealing is dangerous, and an easy way to get caught.

i was actually thinking i wouls need to use a bunch of 250 watt hps's for the flower room
no you mine as well do less space and 600 watt lights... 250 watt will do a short style grow and thats it. if you want weight you need 600w plus.

good advise.
Yeah it's not enough money for the entire room, but if you've never grown you wanna start smaller anyways. Get the hang of it first in a few tents man and then go big.
Just buy stuff your gonna wanna use when you upgrade later so you don't waste any money.

For all intensive purposes can we leave the getting rid of it/staying safe aspect of it out of the discussion.

Good to know so I'll probably start out utilizing about a third of the space in the flower room for plants.

If you haven't grown before then I would start with less plants. Besides that, I think it sounds like an ok plan. 5 lbs a month is a bit much though.
