So basically...I ordered a bunch of seeds, and they were snatched up by the good old boys in blue. (thanks alot pricks):finger:.
So I had ONE super silver haze seed left that made it all the way to maybe...4 or 5 weeks of flower before guess what!!!! IT HERMIED!!! YAAAAAYYY! My first hermie...ever (of course...why wouldnt it be).
Now I had a job a a few days ago...before something in my groin started feeling really...just..EXCELLENT. :o. And I basically just found out I either have another hernia, or testicular cancer! Either way at some point in the near future I will be pissing a steady stream of what feels like rubbing alcohol mixed with fire!!! Hurray!! (I find out tomorow which it is).
Anyway now I am dirt broke (no money for seeds) because I'm not really a "commercial grower"... but it deffinatly contributes to the rent fund every month. And I could go on about this cop who litterally follows me EVERYWHERE and a bunch of other shitty things that seem to be falling out of the sky onto me... but I will save u the time and just ask my question! (yes finaly). Are hermie seeds any good and would I EVER want to use them to try and grow NON HERMIE bud??? I'm sure I already know the answer but hey...wtf right??? thanks and sorry for the E-Bitching........
as a very wise, young man once said while firing a gun in slow motion..."FU** THE POLICE!!!!"
oh and sorry for the horrific grammer...yea I suk at life.

dude man, thats awful! i hope its nothing at all.
iv never grown them at all, but im positive theyre ok to germ and grow, but theyre normal seeds ie not fem, so you have a 50/50 chance of male or female. good luck tho!
again, i hope ur okay.

ahh man...thanks bro. I for some reason thought a plant fertalized by itself had a higher chance of seeds that would hermie later down the line. thats actually really helpful...preciate it man.

i dont htink it makes a difference, i mean, a lot of plants self germinate dont they, tomatoes do...

unfortunately dude, your fears were correct and the first reply is wrong. While it is possible to get good, stable buds from hermied seeds, it is much more likely they'll herm back at you again. You'd have better luck using bag seeds :(

When I plant pollenates itself, it keeps its same genetic dna, meaning a hermied mother will more times than not produce a hermied daughter. This is in fact how they make "feminized" seeds. But as anyone growing commercialy or as a hobby knows, feminized seeds are as likely to herm also... almost 50% in some cases! but hey, they're female for a while right?!? bongsmilie

Best of luck to you, be careful and plan carefully and you'll land on your feet just fine. I'd stay away from those seeds though.

which would make sense if tomatoes produced thc, then you might know a little more. but as it is, when your bud comes in contact with pollen, it will stop producing the delicious buds and start producing sickening seeds. hermies=badforbusiness.

Sometimes though, you're environment can trigger hermies though. You might cross check your grow conditions to see if your plant can be saved. I know a buddy of mine has taken the pollen sacks off and froze them to self pollinate his plants later for seeds.

hey man, dont make out that i know shit. like i said, iv never had a hermie(thank god), so iv never tried it, but i have check around since you said that i was wrong and it turns out theres mixed opinions.
'a hermie female can only make gametes with XX chromosomes so it's true! There's no possibility of a XY combination'

that was off one forum, meaning that u can only get females.

a lot of people recon its the worst thing you can do and will only get males, but then a lot of people counter that by saying in their experience theyv had only females.
back to taknit, if you havent got the money for new seeds, whats the harm in trying, u mite be one of the guys that prove that u can get females from hermie seeds.

yea, and it's not like I have any other females around to get pollinated. Maybe I should just try for the hell of it. Might as well...this is interesting though. I didn't know there was any controversy surrounding the topic of hermi produced seeds. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I know a decent amount about growing but have to admit...I am extreamly inexperienced with this kind of thing.

theres actually more chance the seeds will be female than hermie FOOL, theyre definately worth germing tho
