Hi guys and gals, im a first time grower, and i got a few tutti fruity plants ready to start budding, my friend advised me to re pot my plants with a layer of perlite on the bottom of pot with good soil on top and to water from the bottom. is he talking through his rear end? or is it a tried and tested method? i cant find much info on this, any help will be very much appreciated :weed:

Thats not really necessary - mix up a good soil with plenty of pearlite mixed in - drop a couple small rocks around the drain holes in the pots and fill them up.
I have my pots setting in tupperware tubs & when I water I let them sit for an hour or so to make sure the soil is saturated. then I use my wet/dry vac to take the excess out of the tubs. This method has worked exceptionally well for me the last 3 times. Google "Super soil Marijuana" and work with that recipe.

Just mix the perlite in the soil at a 30/70 rate. Water from top (lol). So water drains out and keeps roots from being soaked and rotting.
Make sure you are useing at least a 3 gal container. And if you need to transplant do it 2 weeks before 12/12.
