16 plants will fit perfectly into 2 of the tubs i use. regular old rubbermaid under bed containers. about 8 inches deep and 1.75x3 feet long and theyll form a nice square when placed next to each other. also most pumps are dual outlet so only 1 pump is needed for both tubs. also easier to handle. i keep 10 plants in each but 8 would be the same thing. dont get a super deep 1unless you need to go on vacation or leave for awhile. to heavy. 16 plants would be perfect in 2 of them. just get them at walmart or something like it.

this wont hold 16 trees. you just want small to med plants right? if you want big plants just buy a third or fourth container.

when i started out, which was not that long ago. i had put only 4 plants in a 14 gallon rubbermaid tub. the same one that the cloner is built out of. http://www.marijuanagrowing.eu/cloner-by-yelodrvr-t31484.html

them i vegged for 6 weeks and they outgrew the tube quick. if you went 12/12 from seed or vegged 1 or maximum 2 weeks, you might be ok with 4 plants. just my opinion. again when i came to these problems in my grow a adapted fairly quickly. when i outgrew the tub, i went to the 5 gallon buckets set up.

these are the same plants. out of four 2 where females. newbie mistake #113. should have sexed them before i put 6 weeks of money, time, and care into the plant to end up male.

1982grower do you run that many plants in one tub. i guess you have to keep in mind that i have always been aero/DWC. ever since the cloner, i have had a water pump and spray assembly in the reservoir nr every set up. IMO the overall development of the plant is faster and more efficient.

faster and more efficient than what? my setup easily handles 16 plants. i only fill res with 6 gallons of water to keep the oxygen levels high. my plants are small. Not sure if you were critisizing mine or not but i said i grow small plants. if he is asking these starter questions i take it hes not flowering 20 monsters. check them out. started feb 17 from seed. 26 days old today. look good to me? if no critisizing then check out my pics. the other tub shows the max size youd prob want to go with the plants in that tub. The clear tub works amazing! its clear for demo only. plus it makes no diff if you change your res when your supposed to. every 5 days! lol

when i talk about more efficient i am not talking about being "green" i mean in plant development and rate of growth. i not saying this is the style for everyone or other methods are wrong. i am just happy with the result i get.
.
no man i am not criticizing anybody. your plants look great man. my apologizes if my tone suggested so. i guess i was just assuming he would start out growing monster like i did. seems to be a common newbie mistake. that is the theory i am adapting to now, keep them small and tight. i had my problems with the trees. it takes tight set up to grow trees. like old earls set up.

elaborate on the changing your res comment. how often do you change your nutes out. its something i been thinking about lately. most info i came across is brand specific. i wonder about add backs and changing part of the water and not all of it.

no man i wasnt offended. thanks man. yah beginners always grow trees. i did to. you dont realise that when you flower a branchy 20 inch plant it will become a beast. My table holds 10 small plants with not much room for side growth. but if hes flowering 16 then 8 in each table would be perfect. flower them around 6 or 7 inches tall and grow a single bud. if hes growing anything bigger than this with 16 plants he better have tons of light. more than a 1000 prob. do 16 tiny plants and get roughly an ounce each sounds right to me in that container with 8 plants
