Recommendation of 6 Strains for a beginner that want to try a bit of everything.

Hello there everyone.

I have just bought almost everything i need to start my indoor grow. 6x5 gallon pots under a 400w mh for vegging and a 600w hps for flowering on a 32" x 32" x 63" grow tent.

What is left for me to buy are
-the seeds
-the pots
-the soil and if necessary fertilizer

The soil and the pots are already choosen. the doubt is with the strains. since i never amores before, i would like to try a bit of everything. For instance one main sativa, one main indica, one with a earthy aroma, another one with a fruty one, etc.

Could you guys please help me with that?

Is this your first time growing? I don't want to ruin your enthusiasm, but I believe you are going to have a difficult time growing 6 plants in a 3x3 tent. I'd purchase an easy to Grow strain (I.e. northern lights) and just learn how to grow that plant before you complicate it with 6 strains.

6 plants in a 2x2 grow area is quite a bit. Average sized plants get pretty big, some strains get very big. I had 5 plants growing in a 4X4 and it got extremely tight before I even flipped them into flower. And that was only a 4 week veg stage. Don't waste your good seeds. put 1 or 2 plants in there. Go through the grow process then decide from there.

i wouldn't mind just playing 4 pots either.

another owner said that he could fit 6 x 5 gallon pots in there, thats why i said 6 instead of four.

I have done gardening before a lot, maybe with weed is different, but why not try a bit of everything? if i get 0.5g/w that would be already a lot of weed for me, and I do not intended to sell it, so instead of having a lot of some weed that i can come to not like, or get bored with the same "taste", why not a couple of different strains, so i can have different efects. can it be that hard to have more than one strain? i have a lot of spare time, a couple of experience woth garden ing, and dont worry, i have done my research and already know that site.

I see that you just edited the tent size to 32x32. I'd still advise growing 1-2 plants just based on your space. I'm only growing four in my 5x5 and it's almost full with a short 5 week veg. I attached a photo to show you how much space four plants take up.

My last tend was a 3x3 and my experience was that three plants was too much for that tent in my opinion.

There is nothing wrong with multi strain grows but there is some serious thought you have to put into it. Especially if you are planning to use your tent for drying after the grow. Space is very important to consider as well. Finishing times on strains can vary by literally weeks. You may have some strains finishing in 7 weeks and others 12 weeks. If you pack your tent with several different strains and end up having tons of issues you will get very discouraged. All strain require different amounts of nutrients and have different water intake needs. On your first grow I would highly recommend you start with 2 strains with similar finish times so you can enjoy your first grow and still get a couple different strains in. Take copious notes and photos during your grow to log what you do and how they respond. It will make it much easier on your next grow.

From what i read i could train the plants to "shape" them how i want, and 4 was a reasonable number for a 3x3 tent. My idea was to have more strains with each plant having less yield. sad that this is not possible. if i plant 2 them, can i plant one main indica and one main sativa?

You would need to look at the specs for those seeds that you purchased. If those two show similar finish times that would not be bad at all. Just know that what is listed as finish times can vary from seed to seed even within the same strain by weeks.....lol

Plant training isn't as easy as shaping the plants....I'm still horrible at plant training. Just be aware that your Sativas can triple in size at flowering while your indicas will likely double in size. Likewise, your Sativas tend to run longer to finish. Personally, I'd start with two indicas with similar finish times as Dargd1 mentioned.

Certainly, it can be done but you need to be good with plant training to maintain an even canopy. I think that's a lot to take on for a first time Grow.

If it were me, id just grab a few packs of afghani & skunk and start from there.

You garden already? i recommend sticking to your ways.. Whatever feed style you currently use (organic/synth) you'll probably have an easier time using the same method with cannabis being you already garden. Of course the nute requirements will be different from plant to plant, cannabis can be a hungry bitch in flower

Nl5 & WW is just as easy.. Hard to stress em out which usually keeps them from smelling much

One strain at a time man. Different strains have different needs. You need to learn one MAYBE two strains. You end up setting yourself for failure and or trouble.

here are 6 different easy to grow strains,

northern lights
blue cheese
critical mass
widow
ak47
c99

trying to grow all 6 of these in the same small space is gonna be anything but easy. Pick one, or two max but don't try more. The more you try and grow the less you will learn about growing and the less quality you will have, you will also probably yield less than you would have with all one strain.

It's a good idea, and a romantic one too I know, but once you learn how to grow cannabis you will realize that even 10 plants from the same parents will have different needs and traits. 6 different plants from 12 different parents all in one room, wanting different temperatures, rh, irrigation, light intensity, space, and timescales? Forget about it, learn to grow, get consistent, then try more.

Don't mean to shit on ur dreams but I don't wanna see a newb fail to grow 6 strains when they could have succeeded growing only 1.
