i've used those Ys way back when, the biggest problem i has with them is they don't fit under the dome reflector anymore, you don't gain that much with two lights when you're losing the reflector at the same time

your not gunna get the best yield but that doesnt mean she cant give you a couple grams of some straight flame ;)

I bought a prewired light.

If you did it right it will be fine.

but i dont have a reflector, i just put together 2 seperate bulbs with 2 different sockets and with the y adapter im hoping to reduce the number of cables when i put 2 more bulbs (2 cables instead of 4 then), if thats not a waste of time and energy ofcourse and if im not risking to set the apartment on fire with it

Putting in a ground fault outlet will help. You used the correct gauge wire? Just check everything right before lights go out and make sure its not running hot.

well heres where i have some problems...im from a country where we have oval sockets and oval plugins and honestly i dont know what ground fault outlet is (except its something to ground your electricity) for now everything is working fine, the bulbs get a bit hot but i guess thats normal if they work 19 hours...i mean cfls also emit heat right?

I worry about it to. I've been running my current light for a couple years now pretty much anywhere from 12-20 hours a day. I reckon I think about it once a day.

I'm going to put in a grow controller that shuts everything down if it gets too hot and install an automatic fire extinguisher.

Check your local hardware or fire extinguisher store and they make the little powder ones you mount over a stove.

wow thats a good idea, ill look it up. another thing thats bothering me is what i read about connecting sockets and cables. it says neg to neg and pos to pos wire but since i used an old cable (it had a switch cuz it was from an old lamp) it had no markings so i just onnected it randomly and it glew. its been working for last 5 days normally and as i said theres a bit of heat but im guessing thats normal for a cfl. i dont know what would happen if i wired the two wires vice versa?

I know, in europe it varies but in my countRy both plugs are the same and oval...but thats not the problem, the only thing bothering me what if i connected wires vice versa, is there a real danger of that light just going into flames all of a sudden or no

ac is weird, it might not make a difference at all, i've realized when i took down a light to put a different one up, that it was wired backwards and worked for over 5 years. then i wired the blender backwards and it melted....so, try to do it right. im sure theres some way to know, google is your friend

Yes and no.

Technically ac current is not polarized and it won't hurt to reverse them. Newer wiring is considered to be polarized.

The problem come when everything in the house is wired one way then you wire something backwards.

i guess you can start lst'ing as soon as the plants tall enough to bend over. i wait for some branching, i don't care if the main stalk grows straight up, i like to open the branches up so i get a sort of semi scrog thing going on

Hey guys, i have another question. Today i received my pc fan i ordered from ebay and im planning to install it in my grow box for better air circulation. My dilemma is however, how to conmect it to an ac adapter. I have few options so im hoping youll tell me which will be the best for my grow. The fan is 12v but it comes with a reducer which then makes it 7v fan. I purposely bought this particular fan cuz its very quiet so im wondering, for a box of 10''x14"x24" what is the best way...should i connect a 12v fan to a 12v adapter, or will a 5v adapter from a mobile phone charger be sufficient if i lower the fan to 7v? Also, what would happen if i wire 7v fan to a 12v adapter? I posted a pic of a fan as attachment
