Please someone help me out here I have never seen this type of thing before. My plants look like they have red calyxes on them. I mean they didnt start this way but they are turning an apple color red almost burgandy. I hope its not some type of deficency. Or does this mean I wil have red buds? The only information I can give about this girl is shes been flowering for 2 weeks, shes in a miracle gro potting mix, shes under 800 hps light, she is a clone of mom I have(that has a reddish tint, she was grown from a batch of seeds that produced a few phenotypes (hopefully she is her own).I dont know the genetics because it was seed from some bud a friend of mine had and he started the moms. He told me it was OG Kush nd when I rubbed the stem and smelled my finger it smelled kushy to me. I have learned the OG Kush is not even a kush and it smells piney and lemony so its not that. I will keep this thread updated because any help in identifying or at least narrowing down the strain will be awesome because if the plant really turns red I would want to solidify that genetically somehow. Soon I will be starting a bunch more of these seeds to see if I can find any other variations too. It will have its own journal here are the pics. Just zoom in to see the red better

I've had red pistils on purple strains, simply genetics. If I were you I would worry more about the seriously yellow leaves. Looks like an N deficiency.

Yeah these were started in a miracle gro potting mix and I knew it wouldnt have what the plants needed. I just didnt have the chance to get nutrients until yesterday because I didnt want to feed them the veg formula I have for several reasons. But I got some new veg and bloom yesterday and I gave them some this morning. Thanks for your worring about my girls but my question is more about red calyxes and if you have seen that before or heard of it or anything of that sort. I really want to wrap my head around this red calyx thing

Does that include red leaves and red buds too. Which def would u think it is? What def causes redness throughout clone and the mother?

Well, I've never dealt with this firsthand, but according to the deficiency table at the Green Mans Library, N-P-K and magnesium deficiencies can all cause red stems. I'm not 100% positive on this, but I would say that if you kept them nice and green on the next run, the red buds would be gone, and back to green colored. :)

I just took some more cuttings from that mom today when they root I will put one in to flower and feed it from day 1 to see what the deal is. My problem is that I put 5 clones in to flower on the same day. They all started yellowing before I fed them but only this ones calyxes are turning from green to red to purple. The rest are bacically the same color. Also I can see 2 dif growth patterns where 2 of them are taller and more lanky while the other 3 are all short and bushy. Another thing is this plant showed sex before any of the rest(actually it was the same day the 1 male I had did). So I am guessing that this is a special phenotype but the only way to prove it is to flower another clone.
