RED in the morning, BLUE in the afternoon?

Once I had a had a frash water aqarium with live plants. I was doing a little research on some bulbs when I came across an interesting article.
It basically suggested useing RED light to simulate dawn and dusk, and use Blue for the afternoon. Red makes it grow a bit in the morning, then the blue light fortifies the growth.
I know nobody wants a stretchy plant vedged under red lights, but would a little bit in the morning evening be so badÉ Sorry my keyboard forgot what a question mark is. I am starting a DWC CFL SCROG cabinet and was wondering if this would speed up or help fill the screen as I will be using one plant.

Well if your looking for proof, there wont be any. All this information is new, and mostly anecdotal. But, i do believe that to optimize a grow, you want to recreate Nature. So it would help, in my opinion.

But it would be hard to switch out the lights all the time. It would be best to just run both the lights at the same time. lamp

In my opinion the more intense light they can receive during their photoperiod is the better! more lumens! There is not a single light in this world that can reproduce the sun so stop wasting time trying to do the mother nature cycle you won't make it! More lights, check ppm, ph and temps everyday and your plants will grow extremely fast!!!!

I have 12 super bright RED leds. They run of 12v (resistors inside) I could easily set them to turn on for a bit with the blue cfls running all the time.
And to the last guy, its not all about intensity, I'm a big noob and even I know that. If it were just about intensity then try growing with a 12v 2million candle power incandesant.lol

Recreate nature does not just mean light xan. Nature, is ph, temp, water, oz, co2, breeze, gravity. Everything you listed is recreating nature.
Indoor growing period is recreating nature.

Peace, i gotta finish trimming this sweet tooth. Lamp

Maybe it's best I just try it. It worked very well in the aquarium. Im I big noob so I really got nothin to compare it to. The Co2 kit I put in was amazing as well, I will definatly do that as well. I noticed Thanx for the input. I noticed DrGreenBudGenes use Red/Warm Cfls through his whole grow with decent results. Maybe I will just use Red/warm through the whole grow. Maybe ad some blue cfls to come on miday during the veg.

Just go with blue during veg to minimize stretch. Then switch to red in flower to stimulate the phytochrome into promoting flowering hormones.

How many and what type bulbs are you using?

I will be using 10 to 14 26w cfls. Supplemented with a small reptile type UVB light for the sticky.

I started a thread called "Stealth Cabinet Build PICS" If you wanna check out the cabinet, I think it's turning out decent. Not sure how to link to it, it is in the "Indoor Growing" section. Has a smiley face beside the title.

Sounds good, if you have that many bulbs then i would just run both spectrums, but if you have the time to change out the bulbs everyday then go for it, why not? Its not gonna kill them. Its a hobby after all right?

And a great hobby at that! lol. I would likely just run 2 timers rather than switching the bulbs. Say run 10 blue all the time and the 4 reds would turn on for 2-3 hours in the morning and evening. Maybe someone out there who is better equipt could try an experiment growing a couple clones at the same time. One with the sunrise, one without. It would take me a long time as I am only doing 1 plant at a time. I would likey be changing too many things on the next grow to really know what did what.

YES SIR! Good shit. All the evidence for it helping thc production is anecdotal though.
But its proven that the only light thc abosrb is UV. So you have to wonder why its absorbing it.
I have heard it has like a sun blocking effect in the trichomes. Like getting a suntan, it may regulate the amount of sunlight the inner part of the trich absorbs. What ever the reason, I beleve you should have a bit of UVB. There are some videos on Youtube about it. the one is kinda long (20-30 minutes) but it gets better near the end.
