Red stems and yellow stripes?

I really don't know if the red stem is a problem.. It runs down about 2/3 of the stem from the top.


And I know this isn't good but I have no idea what the problem is.

looks like a zinc. def. to me...idk about the red stems though man...how are your temps? could just be to cold, and not able to take up trace minerals...such as zinc.

Why do the small plants around it look like the same yellow too?????

What details can you give us here at rollitup? What ferts and when and how much? Waterings? Heavy rainfall recently? What soil? and all other details. Peace

I can't imagine it's too cold. It's usually 80-90 degrees (Fahrenheit) during the day.. Not much colder at night.

It has been raining the last couple days..

i only asked because normally wooded areas and down trees, and moisture make that area much cooler then at head height...if you have a thermometer i'd put it right up next to that plant, and take a reading there...and do another at night in the same spot...you'll be surprised. again, just a shot in the dark...not sure other then strain what would cause that...well your deficiency could too i guess. as kingrow said...nutrients given? none? thats a big one.

Purpling from cold is different, would affect leaves too and turn them purple, 80/90 is good temps, maybe i little too hot at times but its fine. Leaves and stems look cal/mag deficient but it looks underferted as well also the small little plants round it seem to be suffering with the same affliction, dead give away. Still details would help other than that shoot some ferts its way and some cal/mag to be sure. Peace

dolomite lime & epsom salt time! can he not take a good soil sample since its in the ground and run some water through it in say a pail with some holes in bottom and collect some to check the ph then put it back? i mean ground could have become too acidic or too alkaline it could have gone either way and had a lock out or just need some nutes he said it has rained for days!
