reflective insulation

ok, here is my question, right now i have white bristolboard covering my walls of my stealth grow space, i found some siding insulation in my basement (like 6 4'x2.5' sheets) and on one side it has a metalic type covering, i was just wondering if anybody has ever used this type of material for a grow space or not and whether it will help vs white cardboard.
(the insulation is called kaycan styrofold 5)

help would be greatly appreciated8)

i am somewhat new to growin but i hear that alum foil type stuff is not good because it gets hot. better off using flat white paint. or if walls are white then there you go. eggshell is ok too and a bit better because of ease of cleaning. always keep temps around 72-85 ish

have fun

i think know what your talking about its foam board with a reflective film on one side and weather coated on the other side.. im not sure what materials it is but i highly doubt its tin foil, ive used that stuff to divide a room once i havenothing bad or good to say about it it worked to divide my rom idk about reflective wise..

imo, only mylar ( or equivalent ) will give you better reflectivity than flat white. I wouldn't even bother with aluminum foil or radiant barrier, I don't think they are as good for both reflectivity and practical reasons. Adding insulation may also modify the temperature in the space.

I found and used a pruduct similar to your description. It works, but at least the stuff I found is not completly light tight. The "foil" lets someight through and there are small pin holes in the foil.

Just something to check out before you buy a bunch of sheets.

If there is light leakage through the sheets you could always paint the back side with black spray paint if you need more "light tighness".
