only use orange or lemon peels if your bud as a crap smell or has no smell and you think it has to have one! I've used lettuce! it doesn't leave a smell, holds more moisture and can be stuffed in the jars easier without the fear of getting crumbs in you stash! you can put smaller pieces of lettuce in the jar mixed in with the bud so the moisture is spread out.

If you tend to have over drying problems the best thing to do when harvesting is keep a bag of fresh moist leaves and stick them in a ZipLoc bag and keep them in the fridge or freezer in case you over dry so you can then use them to rehydrate your over dried buds. There is no flavor added and they are less likely to mold than rotting fruit peels or bread.

Well I ended up using cuetips overnight. I didn't have any fruit or lettuce, and didn't have any bread. Im going to take them out in another hour. After that, depending on how moist they are I should remove the cuetips and put them back in the jars for another 12 hours?

Another way to rehydrate over dry herb is what smokers of fine cigars do if they become over dry. Take a new, or absolutely totally clean sponge, moisten it and then squeeze out as much moisture as possible and add it. In the case of while curing in jars you would cut a small square of sponge for each jar or you could temporarily put it all into large ZipLoc bags and use an entire sponge or half of one.

A brand new never used sponge is best because it will not have any bacteria or odors. If someone does not have one handy and doesn't want to purchase one they can run one they have used through a clothes washing machine, hopefully with unscented soap and if not with a minimal amount of soap and then rinse the heck out of it, and then use it.

Stick a couple leaves off of your plant in the jar/bag with it, it rehydrates it a bit, and it'll still smell like it should, none of that orange or lemon peel crap. lol
