Relation of Soil Area to Bud

My first grow I had a five gallon pot. I vegged for 3 weeks (sprout to flip) and flowered for 9 weeks. Total of 12 weeks growing. I yielded 1.5 ounces dry bud.

If I didn't change any other variables, how would increasing pot size affect my yield?

Would the yield change at all? Or would I have to veg longer to get the benifits of a bigger pot?

That's not bad, what lighting, soil and nutes did you use? How often fed?
A little more veg, some topping and LST'ing would help also.
(Same size pot, I don't see why your next one couldn't turn a little more.)

Veg longer- the bigger the plant the bigger the yield-
i want to say I heard 1- gallon of soil should get you 1 ounce. Or it mught have been 1 foot of plant growth ger you 1 ounce. Sorta is a under estimate IMO, but it will get you in the ball park.

8 - 23w bulbs
1 - 50cfm fan
1 - clip on fan

Next time I will have side lighting.

Used mainly fish emulsion for veg, and a mix in 3-4-5 Garden tone for transplant and flower.

My second grow I fucked up and switched the nutes... >.< Plant did not make it.

in my opinion, it is the variables that will affect the most.
temps, veg time, blah blah blah, all that stuff.
pot size really only messes with your watering style, EXCEPT for when root bound.
but you can use that to your advantage if you have height restrictions.
once again, thats just me.

happy growing

I don't really think you need more than a 5 gal.
You know what I have right now, and I DO believe the pot is full, but she isn't showing any signs yet, and I vegged for 30 days, and I'm under CFL's like you.;)

1.5 ozs? Ouch.

If you only veg 3 weeks you won't change your yield even if you pot up in a 20 gallon. You need to veg both clones and seedlings for 45-60 days before flip to get 4-10 ozs.

A 5 gallon is more then enough for a 2 month veg and 2 month flower. Rule is 1 gallon per month of life. I am experimenting with fabric 7 gallons now for yield but too early in grow to note any differences yet.

Edit-Using that type of lighting you are safe to go into 3 gallon fabrics. Unless you use HID lighting you won't yield much more then 2 ox even with extra veg time.
