Relatively new ... relatively but. can anyone answer this ? LED vs HPS/MH question ?

Perhaps the biggest reason why LEDs have not yet taken over is the BS pseudo-science developed by the cheap chinese carpetbaggers, such as red and blue are all plants need to produce best buds. That MAY be fine for leafy vegetables, like lettuce, but NOT for flowering plants, which need the green spectrum in between.Look to hi- intensity led panels that use primarily white based leds.
 
Im starting a grow to see just that, i first started with hps and i didnt like the temps. My plants are developing pretty good under the led, but grew very slow under my hps, maybe because of temps. What type of space are you using?
 
I just started getting to know about led lights. My buddy mentioned it a few years ago but NVR looked into it. There is a lot of science behind it and tools that allow u to see what I mean. I need to get a par meter for example. I have 2,led lights and one looks white and claims to be full spectrum. No idea what brand it is but the plug says 1200 watts...similar models run about 320-350 watts. Great light, the plants' internode stem length was about 1/4". The second light I bought saays its full spectrum but has more purple apearence. It does have I.r. and UV light. Its sapose to be tuned to hit specific nm of light that plants will use.....its a 190 watt light(actual watts pulled) king plus brand .
These lights create no heat at all...so essentially I can run higher temps in my room while the leaf surface temp is golden....
Also back to the n.m. of the light...the light spectrum that a hps puts off ...you are losing 40-60% of the light...... Useless. Wile the well built led lights u are not losing much light at all.

Useless? Then how come hps has been the go to light for decades? Congratulations (NOT) you have bought into the BS pseudo-science blue and red led lies. Like a computer, your mind needs to be wiped and rebooted

Yea I'm saying 40-60 % is wasted. The light that is used is intense enough to have results. UV light increases THC and other oils
