Now to the nonsense of removing fan leaves. DONT DO IT. Removing of healthy plant matter is always counter productive to your plants growth, especially big healthy fan leaves. Many people are under the missconception that Fan leaves BLOCK out light, this is false. The fan leaves are in fact the main light collectors and energy producers your plant has think of the leaves as solar panels, the more panels you have the more solar energy you collect. Many people remove fan leaves to EXPOSE BUD SITES, but the fact of the matter is that bud sites do not collect light and produce energy they simple grow the fruit with the energy that is collected from the leaves and nutrients brought up from the roots. The bud sites are the actual reproductive system of the plant. You cant shove food and energy into a womans uteris can you? No, it is processed in other parts of the body and brought in through the transport of bodily fluids and cell buliding. Now it is good practice to remove the under brush of your plant(i.e. dying foliage, under developed branches and weak growth) either at the end of veg or within the first week of flowering, after that YOU DO NOT WANT TO CUT ON YOUR PLANT OR REMOVE PLANT MATTER. Every time you do the plant will stop its growing and cell building to repair itself or get through the stress. With a limited amout of time for the plant to complete its reproductive cycle(which is what budding and fruiting of plants is)the last thing you want to do is stop or slow down the proccess.
