hey guys i want to move out and find a house for rent and use a room to grow pot, i live in CA and i am a medical patient, if i stay under my plant limit ( six i believe ) can i legally grow pot in the rented house without getting busted by my land owner or the cops.

and if this is all good and fine do i really need to worry about nosey neighbors? unless of course i think someone going to jack me then ill worry, but i mean like i want to be able to grow legally in a rented house and not feel like im breaking the law, and not be paranoid about people knowing.

If its a legal grow you probably should just worry about your landlord kicking you out and you having a bad reference and loosing depost and having to move and stuff like that i doubt you would have legal problems though.....I live in Northern Ca and im renting in apartment.

your not getting the picture. its one thing to grow to smoke. but when they catch you selling. they take all your shit. car, house, boat, ect. its better for this shit to not be under your name and fully paid off on. you get me

You are allowed 18 plants in ca,I live in socal 6 in flr and 12 in veg.The law states that the land lord needs to now and u must post ur paper work on wall to be seen.just need a copy not og paper.my land lord has no idea i like it that way.i post papers up in grow room and on the door to the grow room for the cops.and u have ever right by law to pos up to 8 0's in this state. So just post paper in grow room and dont tell a person that u are growing, just come here if u need to say anything and u have nothing to worry about bro,try to rent a house not app!

i just moved from a 7 unit apt building where i was able to grow 2 rounds. it was a large single apt in west hollywood with all utilities paid! the best bet is to find an apt that has neighbors your own age and then disquise your mess with outdoor house plants and veggies. i got into growing so many other things just by setting up decoys for my landlord. another thing to look for is new utilities or recently maintained units. if you move into a unit and set up your grow, there is nothing worse than your landlord needing to come in to fix plumbing or other shit. you will actually start to become more responsible with maintaining your own shit after a while just to keep them out. they cant evict you unless you are seriously fucking up the unit. i had mine in a 6 x 2 x 8 tent that was clean in a corner in my kitchen. they do have the right to allow you to grow or not. ive been hearing alot from the guys at the hydrostore that there might be a landlord committee forming to make leases state that you cant grow and will not grow indoors because alot of people trash the units. if you use a tent system, you wont leave the apt fucked up. i moved into a 2 bedroom condo since i left that apt and the guy who was in here before me was growing obviously from the damage he did. this idiot had at least 40 holes drilled into the ceiling before he found studs to mount the lights to. he taped a hose to the sink to run his res and stapled that hose to the fuckin wall. ripped all the shelves out of the closet and never even attempted to clean his mess. he also fucking drilled right thru the center of crown molding on the ceiling to run his 2 15amp leads to the room, which he also chose orange cable and stapled it along the perimeter of the 1st floor molding then up into the room. im going to buy a 5 x 9 tent soon to put in that room and grow my limit , clean, and without making any more damage to the unit than when i found it . use some class and show off to your friends how ghetto you arent.

If the rental agreement doesn't say you can't grow in the property, and you are growing within the law, there is no legal way that they can do anything. I've seen a lot of classifieds that say no growing -and even if that might not be enforcable under the landlord-tennent laws those are the ones to stay clear of. I think you should also pay for your own electric so they don't have a sudden increase in their electric bill starting the day you move in...
Another thing is that many landlords are upset about medical growing because tennents sometimes alter the electrical system in the dwelling, endangering the other tennents. -This is a legitement concern. Use a safe lighting controller and run 600W lights @ 120 volts. The Power Thief controller is great for apartment dwellers & other renters because it plugs into the dryer outlet and allows you to run your dryer and enough lights for any medical grow on an alternating schedule. Here's a pic of the Power Thief:
small THIEF.JPG Be safe and smart, don't endanger your family and the other tennents in a multi-family home and you should be OK!

Learn the 215 laws thoroughly before you start growing. I can't believe how many people are posting here with guessing information.

Each city has a different limit on plants! For example you can have 99 plants in humboldt county! I believe San Fransisco is around 20. For any city not listed, the limit is 6 flowering and 12 immature at a time. You must look these up as they differ tremendously from city to city...

Do your research before renting a place. Do they pay electric? You don't want them to see an extra few hundred dollar increase monthly in electric or they will know somethings up. I grew with a 400 watt HPS and it was an extra 50 a month just for one light...

Also, pay someone to set up your grow room unless you know your shit. You need all sorts of stuff.. Ventilation system filters etc....

Grow safe.
