Repotting

Hey guys, I'm at middle end of flower and my buds aren't filling out like they should. Plant is healthy otherwise and since it is a pot that connects at the side and is full of holes (smartpot maybe? Idk) I'm seriously thinking I can set it in a bigger pot of dirt and carefully take the sides off and gently fill it in with dirt, in the bigger pot. Underwhelmed with the performance of this pot as it dries quickly and water rolls out when I water. Your input is gratefully appreciated...

Oh my plant is probably done rooting anyway, huh?

Sure man, why not?

If that pot will un-snap and roll away from your root-ball without to much damage it should be cool. If your plant has been in a small pot for awhile you'll have enough roots everywhere to hold your soil together. Just make sure your soil isn't so dry that it crumbles away to dust or so wet that it breaks apart in chunks. Don't damage those roots!

If you decide not to repot you could poke a bunch of holes in your soil with a skewer or stake to make new channels for water to penetrate. Or put your pot in a saucer with a little water to suck up from the bottom.

I don't know what type of pots you are using. I was given some of the fabric type, and yes they get too dry for my liking. On my next run, I lined the inside walls with a study plastic bag, I then cut away the plastic on the bottom of the pots. This kept them from drying out too fast. After that run, I gave them away. I would assume you could wrap the outside of your pots with Visqueen {plastic sheeting} and this should slow down evaporation dramatically. Good luck...

Air pot. Sorry, that's is the proper name for the product. What I did while I was waiting to make a decision was put a couple inches of nutrient solution in a pot basin and ran an air pump with stone underneath the pot.. with a little bit of homemade clear rez. Will see what that does for a second . Thanks gents! Good info!
