Res and black stuff on lips after smoking bong?

A friend of mine cleaned his bong with alcohol and now has res and black stuff on his lips after smoking it. Included is a picture of a tissue after wiping his lips. Doesn’t look very healthy to me, for that to be ending up in his lungs.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this. He already has two chambers in his bong. Maybe another?

Looks like he didn't wipe well enough.
 
Maybe if he cleaned it thoroughly he wouldn't have this problem?

I fucking hate that carbon dust. I can taste it in my mind.
Why I mainly smoke joints made with good quality thin unbleached hemp paper.
 
Your friend has learned some valuable lessons here.
One being to always make sure the hole is clean inside and out before you suck on it
and the other is to be damned sure which hole you are actually mouthing the suck
