researching early finisher outdoors for British Columbia, Canada

Hello Good people:

Just starting to do my research for an early outdoor finisher. I was wondering if anyone had anything to say about Dr. Greenthumb's Iranian Short Season, Kootenay mountain seeds - nepalese grizzly, or manitoba poison strains. These are all supposed to finish late August/very early september. Would I be right by suggesting that yield would be minimal 2-4 ounces dried?

Has anyone grown these strains outdoors in BC and had decent results?

Thanks in advance for your postings.

Iranian short season I really don't want to support Greenthumb in any way shape or form so I just won't comment, nepalese grizzly I don't know but I am growing it next summer so we'll find out! Manitoba poison is OK I ran it years ago and it's fine. It will finish and it gives you something decent. Decent but not outstanding. Add to your list the Guerilla Gold line, #3 is available and works good. I had success with Mighty Mite, not the greatest potency but it will works and makes an OK hash and great crosses apparently. I also grew Brickland, it's fine. There is a small Canadien vendor that has auto affie crosses from time to time, you may want to try that. They tend to be the best around for early plants in my opinion. rcmc they are called. Other than that GWN (manitoba poison) has a few good plants. East- Island seeds has Purple Skunk x Dutch treat I heard great things about.
My experience? stay away from europe bro, not worth your time. Many of our strains were developed from early european strains but unless you feel like be set back 30 years and start over it's not worth it. Find yourself a canadien bank you can trust and deal with them. Similarly, there are things from Danemark, typhoon, nepal, Royal Dane, Early Dane, they have apparently been around fro a long time, they certainly have a purpose but as stand alone strains my experience is that they are OK but not great.

Hope it helps! take care.

Thank you for replying to my thread here guys. I found some really great sounding made in BC strains. I'm really into trying brown dirts revenge from brown dirt warrior. I just ordered his movie and some of his seeds. I'm also going to use nepalese grizzly for a really early finisher outdoors. It's got hash plant in it. So thank you to you guys for giving me some tips. I found quite a few interesting strains at the metrotown hemp shop. Look them up on google if you are curious. They have brown dirts revenge there also.

Have a great day all.

I asked that person to elaborate as well but didn't receive a reply regarding Dr. Greenthumb - maybe he had a bad experience or something. Dr. Greenthumbs iranian short season has some grow journals and really good reviews but I haven't tried it so I can't say yay or nay on it for BC. I did however, recently receive the seeds that I ordered from Brown Dirt Warrior. He has a strain called Brown Dirts Revenge. His movie came with it. That was excellent. Tommy Chong is in it. Marc and Jodie Emery were also in it too. The story that he pasted together really makes you feel for him in the story. I'd recommend it to anyone. I can't say anything yet about Brown Dirts Revenge other than you see what the plant looks like come crop time in his film and the buds are big and dense come trimming time. I won't be able to use them this coming summer as I am out of the country but the following summer for sure I will. I first tried to buy Brown Dirts Revenge at seed stores but they are no longer available. They cost me including movie and postage $112. You have to order directly from him. He has a non functioning website at browndirtwarrior.com. I sent him and email though and got a reply and the rest is history. He's a local in BC. Seemed like a very knowledgable person. His grow guide comes as part 2 on his DVD and that's all about growing outdoors and getting yourself ready with your clones. Quite informative. So I have my september strain for BC. I'm a happy camper.

I also just recently found another early finisher at hemp depot by a seed company known as fast outdoor genetics. They have a strain there called Early Funk which finishes in August apparently. has anyone tried this strain?

im in southern ontario at 45n.there are 2 distinct phenos,1 done about late july/early august and one early to mid september(about september 14th),the auto yields about a 1/4 pound and the later easy 6-10 ounces.bud is potent, kind of skunky, minty tasting, one thing is its a bitch to trim.but the auto pheno is excellent for breeding.grew from seed, started may 1st,transplanted june 1stish.i just fed solubale miracle grow ferts and i grew in the ground in open 5 gallon grow bags.

id check out unleash da green forum and the breeders there.and rcmc is a seedbank directly affilliated with unleash da green forum,id recommend the fast freeze and brickland for early finishers.krks gear is the shit!!!thats highrise seeds

i would not recommend the iranian, its way overrated.

I couldn't find the brickland. But shit trimming is not what I am after. I need some nice and hard buds. I'm going to do three strains outdoors. A real early finisher like nepali grizzly, a mid sept - brown dirts revenge, and a late september plant like jumbo grizzly. I have brown dirts revenge already, and am just about to order the two different grizzly strains. I won't bother ordering dr. greenthumbs iranian short season or FOGs early funk then. Thanks for the tip chongs buddy!

Purple Pineberry clone if you can find it. Finishes mid Sept, good quality, high yields, hard nugs, easy trim, very pest resistant. There's a bunch of it kicking around at the moment thanks to a forgiving outdoor season.

It's not amazingly potent, but it's got a nice happy heady buzz that people like. I'm pretty sure it's a Timewarp cross.

There are some Timewarp crosses out there too I'd check out. Timewarp is really clone only so you can't get it legit in seed form, although you might find something decent in beans bred from the mom for BC outdoors.

Check out Peakseedsbc.com for some Timewarp crosses.

That's really cool advice. Thanks OGEvilgenius...yes, definitely have heard of the timewarp varieties. Though I have not yet tried them.

Thanks Chongs Buddy. I also saw on the rcmc page that guerilla early skunk which finishes in late august to very early september. It sounded better than fast freeze. Have you grown fast freeze?

I wonder what people call big yield. Using a full 50 pound bale of pro mix or sunshine mix...that should get you a pound per plant. At least! Do you guys use mix outdoors or hump in your own soil?

Have a great evening guys!

That's awesome. One of the spots I found is in a swamp and there's no signs of anyone having been there before. Is the idea behind the swamp tube a big section of plastic tubing stuck vertically into the black much and filled with either mix or soil and then your baby plant or is there more to it than that? I've never done one. I was going to go in with painted bamboo and make a flat bit that I could stand on and put grow bags there in groups of three and scatter them around the green that's in there plus hide the grow bags of course with various things.

I couldn't help myself after learning about highrise seeds from chongs buddy. I found a mid september kush called guerrilla kush and an early early strain ready late august early september called fast bionic guerrilla. SO I bought those today. A kush that's ready mid september? That's insane!

I wouldn't get your hopes high on finishing in august or even mid sept with a real kush. Seed co lie man + climates.nutes.tech varies so much. I find anything that finishes in aug sucks. They need the cold dry sun to build optimal thc. wish u luck and post back next yr to get realistic dates.

Early Skunk maybe ?

My mum`s got that germing now along with some g13 skunk and g13 super skunk all to veg inside and flower outside when the frost has cleared, it`s ok she`s got a Pakistani Ryder to window grow for the new year might even show her how to flower it under cfl or led if she`s nice to me lol

But yeah early skunk does well in the cold and finish`s pretty fast maybe cross it with some super skunk and you`ll have nice seeds for next year, 90`s style smoke............
