awesome harvest pics man! how many weeks of curing did it take for WW to taste good?

also, have you ever tried the "paper bag" method of drying? someone recommended putting the buds in paper bags for a week or two, after a few days of hanging, before jarring. this way they dry a little more slowly without risk of molding. just curious if you had tried that and how it affects the curing process.
Thanks homer! Honestly the WonderWoman tasted pretty damn good right when she was dry after like 5 days of cutting lol.. I honestly think she was one of a kind though :) Her smell was very fruity all throughout flowering. The taste definitely improved but it was most noticeable on the shortrider. I would say about 2-4weeks curing would be ideal in my future grows..

I haven't tried the paper bag method but I have heard about it. Hanging worked perfect for me so thats what I stuck with, I'm sure either way it will work good for you! The main thing you have to be carefull about with mold is when your curing, if you feel the bud getting really moist then you should leave the bud out for a good amount of time to release the moisture.. I had a little right up but I'm not sure what I did with the link, the guy was montioring humidity in every jar and broke it down in percentanges and how long to open the jar and leave the jar shut to get the perfect cure! It was pretty interesting, I'll have to look for it..

thats the method of cure i do...after i let it dry..before the stem snaps..i place it in the jar...a RH over 70% is in the "mold zone"..its still too wet and needs to be dried longer..65-70% it can start the curing process...making sure to burp it 2-4 times a day to keep the RH under 70%.you want to get it around 60% thats in the "cure zone" where it can be left for months in the jar without risk of mold....but when it goes under 55%...it cant be properly cured...all the moisture from the buds is gone and then it is what it is.adding water wont help at this point...then its just wet...water and the fluids inside the buds are 2 different things... water dont have the sugars and micro organisms that are needed to cure to add the flavors.ive noticed its much easier to cure if you let the plant (if in soil) go bone dry before harvest...produces more trichs this way and makes it easier and faster the start the curing process...i can get my bud dry and smokable in as little as 5 days...but it wont have that good cured taste to it yet...2-4 weeks is a good amount of cure time...but who the hell can wait that long...my last 2 harvest was smoked longgggg before it was completely cured...wasnt harsh at all and tasted great tho

Thanks DJ, thats exactly what I was talking about! Actually now that you say that I might have let the shortrider get a little to dry.. LIke you said though, unless your growing more than a couple plants at a time, who the hell can wait that long lol.. +Rep

I got the same strain from the Oct promo but it didnt sprout , So ima pack my bowl and have a seat for this one
I'm sorry to here that bro!! How did you attempt to germ it?

Either way, glad to have you and hopefully you have better luck with your other seeds!! Shit I would contact them and tell them it was crushed and see if they do anything for you..

thanks djruiner and smellytreez for all this info. so "rh" is a measure of humidity, i gather? i need to get a moisture reader asap. but sounds like 60% to 65% humidity is the sweet spot for curing. i'll keep this in mind :)

and smellytreez, HOLY CRAP your plants look amazing. all three are beautiful in their own ways. that is some impressive shit. i'd +rep you again if i could.

Are you sure those 2 are only 5 weeks? What will they look like in 3 more weeks? Super dank. KK looking great also. Keep up the good work>:bigjoint::bigjoint:
I second guessed myself when you asked that lol.. They do look more mature than 5 weeks don't they! I looked back and if you look at the very first pics in this thread, they look like they where at about 1 week into flowering and that was on 9/25... So if I posted those right around the day I took the pics, which I'm pretty sure I did lol.. Then there actually 2 days into there 6 th week, that sounds about right haha.. So in the pics they pretty much just finished there 5th week give or take a few days.. Thanks for making me look back and figure that out because now I know :)

Great grow, thanks for all the great pics too.

No problem lt. dan, thanks for stopping in and commenting! You should definitely be excited about that majic seed, hard to believe it turns into this lol..

when my shit looks as good as yours, then i'll be happy!! LoL.
Lmao.. I appreciate that CD because I remembered thinking when I first started, "If my girls look like his I'll be happy, haha.." I could see why your ready for some better genetics now though :wall:

going good so far man, thanks for asking. they're just hanging in the box since sat morning, smelling kinda nasty (not moldy, just grassy). gonna weigh them again tomorrow and maybe transfer to paper bag -- i'll post updates soon. peace.

I am also gorwing kk but doing it in a scrog grow with other strains i am about to kick her into flower but she does grow fast. I am growing her with advanced nutrients so we will see if they stand up to their name. In veg using sensi grow a&b, superthrive, cal-mag, dm zone, hygrozyme, bud candy, rhino skin under 400 watt mh hortilux daylight and i will feed her connoisseur a&b, bud blood, great white, voodoo juice, bud factor x, rhino skin, bud candy, big bud, nirvana, b-52, overdrive, and flush with clearex under 600 watt hortilux super. Hoping for a good yeild.... The other strains in the scrog are dynamite, purple haze, and dcn diesel tote 2 is deep purple, a mystery seed, onyx auto, and cali haze auto

Cool man thanks for the pics and the WW re-cap. Unfortunately, if I do it the 250w hps is probably going to be to hot for my space so it's going to have to be all CFLs. So, the 250w is going to have to sit in the box a little longer, haha. I'm still kicking the idea around. Not quite sure if I'm going to do it yet. Even all the CFLs I plan to use will be pretty hot. Ideally I'd like to use at least two of those big CFL's they sell at home depot (65w I believe) to hang vertically in the middle of the 2 plants and use a bunch of the 26w for supplemental. I've seen people do the verticle thing with big hps bulbs and turn the plants 1/4 turn a day with pretty good results. Only problem is those big CFLs are close to $20 each if I'm not mistaken, plus all the cords, fixtures, etc, so I'm not sure if it's worth the investment if I'll be moving soon. Like you, when I move I plan on moving up at least a 600w. Hell, the 250w might never leave the box, haha. I do have the soil, pots, nutes, fans, a few CFLs, and a couple cords, so it's not like I'm starting completely from scratch. But anyway, this is your thread I don't want to clog it up with my grow ideas. As you know, I'm an outdoor man so I might be hitting you up for advice very shorty. :bigjoint:
