Reservoir color change - what does it tell you

Hi, I was wondering if there is any information on using your res color to determine generally which nutes your plants are taking in. I am using the GH Flora Series for example, and my solution has turned yellow-ish after a week (2 gal non-recirculating bucket). In the past it has turned completely clear. Can we use this information in any useful way? I assume it varies based on nite supplier. Flora series is micro(maroon)/gro(green)/bloom(pink).
If not, is there any other way (cheap/diy if possible) to determine what is actually being used?

No.... And yellow doesn't seem good. Do a res change. The best thing you can do is use a TDS/PPM Meter to see a total decrease in nutes. The only way to see exact micro nutrients individually, would be a meter you and most of us definitely can't afford, nor would we need to.
GH Flora Trio + CaliMagic is foolproof.

Also, the GH nutrients use a food coloring to get those colors, it's not the actual minerals causing the color. Therefore we can't use that as a means of judging whats been consumed and what has not.

If you really wanna get into the analysis of the used nutrients then it's gonna be expensive.

Thats a slick looking unit. Do you use one yourself?
