Revegging flowering clones ?

I inherited four Shiskaberry/Candida CBD clones from a friend !

He was trimming the mothers just before switching the lights, looked in the trash and said what the hay. Let's try cloning

Put them right back in his tent which was now 12/12. They are a full two months old now.

Got them home today and trimmed off the buds and put them under 24 hr light. Suggestions on how long before switching to 18/6 ?



Two will go into 2 gallon plastic containers, two in 3 gallon fabric bags.

ProMix HP, two fed with Advanced Nutrients M/G/B and two with Mega Crop one part. 600w MH/HPS, parabolic reflector. 54" x 54" x 4' enclosure in a 10' x 10' room.

Any suggestions on adjusting Mega Crops feeding schedule ? My well water ppm is 500 and ph is 7.6 before adjusting to ~6.1

Trimmed off the buds, that would be a first .

Not sure how you will make out considering your rejuvenation would come from the buds.

perhaps they would resucker but not the way I would have gone about it.

I want to say that you shouldn't have trimmed off the bud. But I've never cut it off. I've revegged flowering clones and the new growth will start growing out of the bud and lots of it. That's why they're termed monster clones.

Normally I would take what you had and perhaps put under 18 and the flower would stretch a bit and the start sending out funky looking single leaves in a few different directions for a few nodes then maybe transform back to full out veg.

It is my understanding that cutting off the buds (which would be wasted anyway) has the same effect as topping. Flower production will cease and new growth will come from those intersections.

Ouch should of read up on monstercropping before trimming them up, maybe?

Actually I have read a variety of articles and they all suggest removing the buds.

Perhaps someone who has actually done it could comment ?

Havd and regularilly do, so have a bit of exp. Almost all of my clones cyt from flowering cannabis, so l am the guy who actually has some experience with them or wouldnt put 2 cents in.

What articles? I've never seen anything that said to remove the buds when revegging a flowering clone. I've done it numerous times and I never remove the buds. Once you change the light cycle the plant will stop flowering and return to a vegetative state. It can take time for that to happen and sometimes flowering clones will just die even if they've developed roots.

Once the plants start to revegetate they will start sending branching which will start with single bladed leaf and then develop into a full branch with complete leaves.

Cutting the flowers off was a bad decision.

What was reason for post? You already know it all so why ask? Maybe you should learn how cannibis grows first! What actually makes up the flower? Any idea? Buds right? Lol!

Agree where is new growth going to come from? The leaves?

From your reply I take it you have had success with revegging flowering clones leaving the buds on. But have you tried removing them ?

I have done both
Horticulturally there are varying opinions on bud removal non canna related
Ask your local nursery about removing buds from rose of sharon and you will get a different answer from every master grower

The only time I would leave a couple buds on is if I took it to full harvest and even then I will pop those buds once fresh leaf growth is evident

If I were to cut my sucker (flower) complete with stem leaving nothing behind I would expect just that, nothing.

When harvesting a weed plant, leave a few healthy buds and branches intact at the base of the plant.

This completely defeats the point of monster cropping. They'll grow. But all that beautiful and tons of foliage that litterally gives triple the yield will be lost in the scrap bin. Now there just regular clones

I don't care what those websites say. That's incorrect information.

The entire concept of monster cropping is to get a bunch of branching. If you cut off the buds you won't get the massive amount of branching that makes it monster cropping. You might get new growth where you cut the bud off but it won't be monster cropping. That grow weed easy site is full of incorrect information and new growers should avoid it.

Here's what happens when you monster crop. This isn't a clone but a reversed plant that is revegging but the concept is similar. Leave the buds, allow the plant to reveg, and it will start sending a whole bunch of branches from the bud itself. That won't happen if you cut off the bud. The buds can shoot out a large amount of new branching. This has just started to reveg but as you can see there are already 4-5 new growth tips emerging from the buds. If you cut the buds off that isn't going to happen and you are not monster cropping.





That information from those 2 websites is wrong. In fact some of it is laughable.

From Leafly:

"Re-vegging is hard to successfully pull off, even for seasoned growers." No it isn't. It's really easy. Just leave some growth, put back under vegetative lighting hours, and wait.

"Re-vegged plants are more delicate and must be given more attention and care." Revegged plants are no more delicate than other plants so I don't know where they came up with that nonsense.

The grow weed easy says to pinch off the buds but all of the pictures they show have the buds still intact as they should be with one photo showing the same type of growth I just posted pictures of.

These websites are not doing new growers any favors and are just perpetuating bad information and broscience.

My apologies I did not read that you were cutting the flower off the clones as an experiment.
