Hi All,
Ive got a bit of predicament on my hands and i thought id open it up to public discussion. Here goes... I lived in a shared house with 6 other people most of last year, I was the first to move in and was pretty desperate to get on the internet so I arranged it all, getting a decent TV package (even though I dont watch TV) and the best internet package available (50 meg considering there were so many of us). The landlord gave me a couple of hundred pounds towards the internet and we agreed to pay the rest. I argued that the landlord had broken the tenancy agreement we had mid way through the year and after a brief row with him I moved out. At this point the others asked me how much they owed me and I wasnt quite sure, considering I was paying monthly and was pretty stoned for the duration... I said leave it until the end of the year and Ill divide the total between us (generous, considering I was moving out after about 6 months, I couldnt put the internet contract into anyone elses name otherwise we would have had to start another 9/12 month contract). I didnt have much more to do with those people until they asked me to extend the contract for an extra month as some of them were staying a little longer, I did this, extending the 12 month contract and paying a cancellation fee. I then sent them the total - the landlords contribution and didnt even include the cancellation fee etc. They responded by saying that after I moved out they were hassled by the landlord etc etc and I shouldnt have moved out (something they were happy with at the time), they then said that they never agreed to pay that much etc etc (£25 each) I met with one of them today and He gave me the money up front saying Id been fair about it, the remaining 5 housemates (all girls incidently) are refusing to pay the £25 I requested, even though the real total would be more like £35. They are all really bitchy and have since bloacked me on facebook etc. after a long row, lasting months and involving me going to the bank and requesting all the statements for that period. It is apparent that they are refusing to pay it.
This is turning into a bit of a rant so ill cut it short, they are being totally unreasonable and each owe me £25 at the very least. I told them they didnt need to pay it right away and they could pay me whenever they could as long as they acknowledge that they owe it to me, no response and its been months now, I just want it resolved.
So essentially Im not too fussed about the money but the principle counts, I told them if i didnt hear back from them in the next week we would have to resolve this in some other way, Im thinking that as long as I have £25 worth of fun at each of their expenses then Ill be happy, this leads me to methods of revenge... suggestions are welcome but keep in mind theyre all girls in their late 20s, I was thinking about releasing rats into their new houses (I dont think any have moved too far away) but on reflection that seems bit silly.
