I have been having trouble with my water, I think I have hard water. They just changed where they get the water from in my town and been having problems since. when I change my PH in 24 hours it goes back up from like 5.8 to 6.7. anyways I have a reverse osmosis system on the way, I am wondering if I will have to add some nutrients to the water because it is being stripped of some. I did some research and heard I should add some cal' mag. What do you think?:bigjoint:

Yes def. Cal mag from botanicare. Other than that RO is very good for your plants because you are begining with 0 ppm water. So things like nute lock out and salt build up will be much harder to get. Its a good investment and i hope your happy!

It depends on your soil and the nutes you are using. You may or may not need to add it but you definitely want to be on the lookout for Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron deficiencies. Check this thread out::bigjoint:

THats some great info Doc! Can't wait to get my RO system! about to do some more reserch but maybe you can give me a quick answer. been having problems due to too high PH. My water has been right on but just tested my soil and it is at 7.0 I am getting phosphous damage and I think some MG def. whats the best way to lower my ph of my soil?

I sometimes get mag deficiencies while in veg when using RO water. I usually just add 1ml per gallon of cal-mag into my feeding schedule throughout any veg (i don't veg plants very often, more of a sog guy) but still keep it in there through the first 2-3 weeks of flowering. I don't know if I need it up to that point, but it's habbit. I stop adding it when i start adding my bloom boosters.

I do like RO water though. Great to drink, great for your plants to drink, and you have full control over what's in the water. No chlorine or other surprises.
