I have no idea but I remember someone saying that the presses like this don't generate enough pressure to be used effectively for rosin

For $200 it may be worth it to you. I have spoken to this company previously the unit produces 100psi. Cons you can get 100psi with a hair straightner and a dewalt 600 clamp. Pros you have 5x5 area not 2x3. Short answer yes it will work.

@lio lacidem the, do you know if this type of press (regular t shirt press) would be better? I read these only heat the one plate and for rosin I think both plates need to be heated.

You should be looking for something that can apply more pressure, t-shirt presses are too weak, you'd be better off with a hair straightener.

This one will actually produce about 1/3 of the psi as a hair straightner the plates are way too large. If your looking for a cheaper good setup 6tonhydraulic a frame press with difital platens approx cost $600

So of the two, the first would be the best.
What about the Tarik rosin press? I would like to stay under $300 for a press but if I have to get the hydraulic for good pressure I will just save up. Sorry, i'm new to rosin and don't want to buy a rosin press that doesn't work. The older I get, the more the saying "you get what you pay for" seems to apply. Lol...

The tarik is a joke its basically a extra large hand pressed straightner. The biggest cost on building one is the actual platens. Mine cost me $500 I got 5x5s. They had 3x3 for $400. They work great. I purchased 2 sets and both work great. The 6 ton A frame is under $100.

6 ton A frame. Something like this? How big is that in person?

I'm probably going to get the ricoma 5" circle one for $200 because its conveniently sized for my not so big bathroom counter top.

Yup that looks like the one its pretty big 3ft or so. If you are just running for yourself the ricoma will be goodm
