How so?

....
If you ask the liar which door the other will say leads to paradise he will point to the door the truth teller would NOT tell you (because the guard you asked is a liar, so he will tell you the opposite of what the truth teller would tell you [and the truth teller would tell you the correct door]). Therefore if you ask the liar he will point towards the door leading to death.

If you ask the truth teller the same question he will answer truthfully and point to the door that the liar will claim is paradise. The liar will lie and claim the death path is the paradise path, and the truth teller will tell the truth an accurately tell you what the liars response will be.

Both scenarios the guard will point toward the death path.

How is a raven like a writing desk?

Because both can produce a few notes, tho' they be very flat, and are Nevar put with the wrong end in front!

<ot> RavenMochi, I noticed your sig last night while I was epically, fractally blazed. I laughed out loud for ten minutes! Awesome.

Nope. Can't get my head around it. I need to see it being played out.

Ok I will label the 2 paths as D for Death and P for Paradise. Guards are L for liar and T for truth teller.

1. if you ask L which path leads to P he will lie and say D
2. if you ask T which path leads to P he will say P

if you ask T which path L would say, T will truthfully tell you D (because L will lie and say D as in #1 above).
if you ask L which path T would say, L will lie and tell you D (because T would actually point to P, but L will lie about it because he is a liar)

No matter which one you ask the answer will always point you towards D because there is a single lie in there. Either the liar is lieing about what T would say, or T is telling the truth about the lie L would tell you.

I appreciate the effort you're putting into this, incognito, but I'm not going to get it until I see it played out. I'm gonna use some people to do it tomorrow.
