RIP Jack Splitt

This young man passed away on Wednesday from complications of cerebral palsy. Because of his vigilant fight, he didn't leave this world until he helped make sure that medical cannabis would be available to other children who require treatment during school hours.

I felt a nod was appropriate for this young man.

I can't believe that teacher ripped his patch off, I mean, c'mon! Everyone said he was such a great kid, even the lawmakers loved talking to him, I don't understand what possesses people like that teacher to just take matters into their own hands. That sweet boy did nothing wrong but try to get relief from his pain! Its so awesome that his mother stood up for him and helped him do what was necessary to reach officials to get the message across.

I wish much peace to his family.

i understand the 'no pot in school' idea, but fuck... the prescriptions he must have had would be much worse in the hands of high school students.

fucked up all around. i'm donating to the family.

exactly! It was a patch for gods sake and for that school employee to yank it off of him was uncalled for. Had that been my child, I don't believe I'd have had the restraint to keep from knocking the crap out of them!

His mother is a real trooper, an angel for sure!

I would think the act of touching the child and ripping off the patch would be some form of legal battery, especially against a person with a disability.
I know, right?? Whomever did that to him should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law imo. No way, no how would that person be walking around scot-free.

like I said, had it been my child...

this is just the type of case a high end civil rights lawyer might take on a contingency basis against the teacher, personally and the school district. it surely can't compensate for the pain inflicted on them and their child, but I'm sure they have outstanding medical bills or could donate to the cause.

Absolutely, hopefully mom has already reached out for counsel.
