Now that RBG has passed, a possible implication is for the democrats to impeach Barr and then DeJoy after the election and finally Trump, tie down the senate until the new congress and create a rift with Trump. It will be hard for Mitch to make Judaical appointments if he has a full plate of constitutionally required impeachment trials until the congress ends with the year. There are election and Christmas breaks to consider too.

Not enough time to do an investigation to impeach. This will be the fastest appointment in history. I feel sad for Americans.

Not really, the house can charge and vote on impeachment in a day, no need for long drawn out public hearings, much work has been done. If Mitch wanted it and Nancy agreed, they could remove Donald with in 24 hours. There are 2 weeks left before election break and many republicans are eager to make up for lost ground in the polls, the democrats could get the ball rolling on Barr and DeJoy immediately. Nobody gives a fuck about them and they won't lose a single vote over charging them even with the house voting to have them all ready for Mitch's return. The election results are certified by congress on Dec 14th as constitutionally required.

If they hold a special election for Ted's seat, it could very well go to the democrats, Mitch would shit a brick, he's already looking at a minority and endless investigations with himself and his wife on the hot seat. Now if Lindsay lost his seat, he would be the chosen one, but Donald would stab him in the back because of the nasty things he said about him. Will Donald wait until after the election or do it tomorrow, perhaps tweet the name tonight?
