RIU says "MARIJUANA GROWING" at the top of the page... can we change this?!

I'm usually' very careful about leaving windows open on my computer, but as we all know, computers store history and cookies and whatnot. Im concerned with the top of the page for RIU reading "Marijuana Growing."

Yes, its a marijuana growing site, but that doesnt mean we need to tell the whole world about it. We emphasize secrecy and extra care in keeping our grow rooms low key, but anyone could spend 5 minutes on our computers and find out what we've been up to. Is there any way we can remove the label at the top of the page, or change it to something not so obvious? Ive had people walk into the room as I'm on here, and even after minimizing, the tab still says it, the window itself says it, and it says it on the bottom toolbar.

Yes I do. The risk is still the same. Just because its my computer doesnt mean I'm the only one who's ever on it.

Its just a risk thing for me. I mean, 99% of the time, I'm the only one on my computer. But there's still that once in a blue moon where someone jumps on it real quick, and I have a minor freak-out wondering if I closed everything that I should have. I left a RIU page up once, and a non-smoking friend saw it. Fortunately he didnt care, but it could have been a potentially hazardous accident.

The Admin of the site has it set for promotion, this has been the policy since the site started early 2006 99.5 % of traffic is from google and keywording everything. To expect this to change is highly unlikely

yup that spot at the top of page is what search engines use to find stuff.
i accidently left a window open one day and a customer came into my office and says
"what is this marijuana growing"
"I would never let my employees look at illegal things on work computers"

i said no shit i'll have to have a talk with them so this doesnt happen again
so now i'm very careful one scare is enough for me
this customer is an ass as far as weed is concerned he went on ranting and raving about how he hates weed and has never tried it and would kill anyone that tried to give it to his kids blah blah blah. unfortunately this customer is worth about 50,000 to my company

Then the admin of this site doesnt have the best interests of its members in mind.

we have brought this issue up many times, little to NO protection for and of the users is really offered.

I think that there mite be a way to change how your desktop looks and it will hide this. I use linux and konqueror to post on RIU and it doesn't display the MArijuana Growing part when minimized. I don't know maybe make the part where windows are displayed at the bottom smaller. There has to be a way. I think it would be asking too much to change the title of the pages. It is the way that it shows up first on the search engines. Anyone thay type marijuana growing in google is going to pull up a RIU page.

You are asking the site to do a lot because you are scared that someone will find out that you somke pot. if you are worried about cookies there is programs and websites that will clear this problem up for you.

Did you know the servers location is actually beneficial to all the members?

As for the problem, why not use a proxy?

The title of the page is important for search indexing. Whether you browse the site or not is at your own discretion.

My brother got nailed by his 10 year old because of it being there. She came to him and asked 'Daddy are you growing marijuana?' We almost shit, then we saw it on the computer...He said to me 'no more, too risky'

in another light i think that promotion is very important to this site. the bigger our "family" gets the more information will become available to us.

Clear your history, close your browser, and when you log off, RIU automatically erases the cookies.
