pretty much the standard. I have one tuna rod that's shorter and has a roller tip for bigger fish.

they usually won't let you run braded lines unless everyone is.....mono line

The thing is that I have made reservations in advance & had to go on a boat that was over booked & there were 1/2 full boats along side....

That's what the boats run. Since everyone is trolling at the same time, there are a lot of lines in the water at once. The more everyone uses the same line, the more they all hang at the same angle & less tangles.
