I would've ... but never got an invite. :( cn
It was open to the public before it was dedicated. I did the walk through in the Albuquerque and Monticello temples.

That early morning blessing was lovely. I wonder in what acoustic space it was recorded.

The skyline/horizon puts me in mind of the time I rode up to Four Corners back in '03. It makes me think of Shiprock. cn

That is a representation of Shiprock in the video. It's pretty close to the view I have out my bedroom window. :D

The song is called "Hooghan" from the album Sacred Mountains by Louie Gonnie. I'm sure it was recorded in a studio.

Shiprock in Navajo is called Tse Bit'a'i' or "Winged Rock" According to legend it's the tailfeathers of a large bird that carried the Diné to safety when they were faced with destruction. It dove into the ground and all that was left sticking out was the tail feathers. Some say it will awaken if the Navajo people are ever threatened again.

Here's one that "fished me in" on the day I rode out from Four Corners. Approaching it, it sure looked to me like a sitting Buddha.
Anyone recognize it? cn

That's a big 10-4, UB. It's just to the right of the 191 northbound into Moab from Chinle. I think it's called Church Rock. It looks Buddha-esque on approach but looks like a decapitated sphinx from the side. I had awesome weather that day (had to wear the rain gear) and saw it framed in a rainbow. One of my best travel memories. cn

I do. Isn't there a corral at the bottom with a small cave? (If I remember correctly)

I used to drive past it when I drove down from SLC. That's when I knew I was getting close to home. :D

I love Chinle. Did you get a chance to visit Canyon De Chelly? I love Spider Rock. It's so beautiful. I used to watch the crows fly over the canyon and then they would flip upside down for a bit. It was amazing to watch. I need to get out there this summer.

Carne, I wish i could have stopped to take a good look. I was in an all-fired hurry after having a pretty severe EDV the previous day. This was a truly awesome sightseeing day that took me from Grants Pass, NM through Four Corners and Moab to an overnight in Salina.
(An EDV is an Embarrassing Deviation from the Vertical. Bentonite dirt roads, thunderstorms and Harleys are a truly infelicitous mix.)

<edit> Sorry about the threadjack, ganjames. I'll stop now.
