river as a water source

Ive been hiking out to my plot which is next to a river, I normally give it about 2g per plant. It was a pretty good sized river flowing constantly but now the beaver have damed up the river to hell. Every 100 yards a new dam is present, so all the water is now pretty much stagnant... Will this create bad water to feed my plants?
On the bright side I have a prime fishing location from the beaver trapping all the fish at my spot.

Stagnant water is full of life, which should be good for the plants.
Just be careful about root rot.
And dude, use fish for fertilizer indian style!
